Astro Pneumatic ToolRN14 100-Piece 1/4-20 Steel Rivet Nuts (Fоur Расk)

Somebody messed up!! I ordered 100 of the 1/4" X 20 rivet nuts and received 94 6mm rive nuts and only 6 of the 1/4" X 20 rivet nuts. I had to go through all 100 nuts by test fitting them to a 1/4" X 20 bolt to find the six nuts I needed. It would be nice if somebody would make this right.

This review is for Astro Pneumatic Tool RN14 100-Piece 1/4-20 Steel Rivet Nuts ordered 2021-07-31 and received 2021-08-01. The cost was under $5 with Amazon Prime.I needed to replace two rusted and spun riv nuts that secure cleats to the bedside of my truck. I had bought two new ones locally but applied too much pressure when I installed them which tweaked the alignment between the flange and the body so my screws went in crooked and not centered so I turned to Amazon rather than spend 25 minutes back and forth to the local hardware store (LHS) the next day to pay 25 times the price for them.Like others have experienced, there were 6mm x 1.00 rivet nuts (26 of them) mixed in with the 1/4-20 pieces that I needed. In the end, this is a bonus for me as I may in the future want metric ones and the 72 remaining 1/4-20 are plenty. I appreciate that a mix of threads would be a problem in a professional or manufacturing environmentIt was irritating when the first 4 that I tried wouldn't thread onto my riv nut tool which had me thinking that I made a mistake with the thread pitch. A thread gauge proved that my screws were truly 1/4-20 and the label on the package also indicated 1/4-20 so I dug deeper into the bag till I found a 1/4-20 and 3 minutes later I was done.Beware that riv nut outside diameters evidently vary as these have a smaller OD than the 1/4-20 riv nuts that I bought at the LHS which unfortunately made me enlarge one of my existing holes slightly with a stepped bit. The Astro Pneumatic pieces measure 0.3485 inch body with a 0.4855 inch flange which is probably closer to the old riv nuts that I replaced. It worked out but I wish that I had done some homework before running off to the LHS.

Wanted to add a rail in my Ranger truck bed for extra strap mounting points. Unistrut channel was my first choice--it's economical, versatile, etc. and there is a place below the top rail that it would fit. Since it's only single thickness sheet metal and not accessible from between the inner/outer walls these seemed like a good choice. Match-drilled a bunch of holes (9mm) in the bed and installed with the Astro tool. Once screwed in it seems solid but I may still add a few more where I can.

These work well. They set straight, the threads are smooth and they stay put even under significant loads. Can’t ask for more than that.

I'm 70 and had no problem using this tool to inserts nuts into already existing holes in my van. It was particularly good that various sized nuts were included so I could figure out what size I needed.

Nothing I did not like about them so far. Time will tell but the appear to be really tight and working well so I don't think I will have to add anything to this in the future.

These worked just as they should and were exactly what I needed.I bought all my rivet nut tools from Astro Pneumatic and these rivet nuts work great with the tools.

Looks good quality and do a decent job but buyer beware - these are not the same as Marson made in USA . Somewhat thinner metal and consequently a smaller outer diameter means that the hole size they require is smaller than what the Marson rivnuts need. 1/4" - 20 interior thread is good. Wish they also sold the inexpensive manual hardened bolt and hex washer installation tool.

Use these all the time,as well as the other sizes,great to find them here,and fast delivery,will buy again.

I ordered 1/4-20 nuts, the label on the package says 1/4-20 - but they won't accept a 1/4-20 screw, maybe they are 1/4-28? Anyway, did not work, ordered rivet nuts from another vendor.
