This book comprises of sermons given by Rev. Taylor and are masterfully done. He does poke fun of the Christian interpretation and has a very clever wit about him before he analyzes the topic in his sermon. After putting things into perspective he closes his sermon with great reasoning and intelligence. This book really was a pleasure to read. Topics such as Jesus, the devil, Judas and Freemasonry are covered and are extremely interesting I wished they went on longer. To debate and preach reason in an unreasonable time, early 1800s, with the risk of being thrown in jail for blasphemy, makes me admire Rev. Taylor greatly. Truth seekers light the way for others. What a great book. The author has a great grasp of Greek and Roman mythology, astrology, and astronomy, and how these are the undercurrents of the bible. It's amazing this was written in 1830, when there was no instant access to information like today with the internet. This is someone who had to work for this insight. Great explanation of what religious covenants really are, and his chapters on the "secrets" of freemasonary are enlightening. I kept a bible and planisphere (star chart) handy for reference. If you are looking to remove the shackles of orthodox religion, do yourself a favor and read this book. It will be good redemption for Robert Taylor's two prison sentences he served for writing it. I have a few chapters left and can't wait to read it again.

I agree with Santos Bonacci that this book has the best astrotheology. I would have given it 5 stars but the author's ego ces through more than I'd like, the language is old and a little difficult to get through, and there aren't as many references as I'd like but his arguments are solid, and gives the bible a much deeper, richer message than when read literally or historically. I think this should be essential reading for all Christians.

I read a considerable amount of books on Astro Theology. This is, by far, the best read for this type of information. It is a rather tenacious read and not for a novice, although anyone can get through it if the desire is there. An absolute need for your library.

I purchased this book for someone else. They seemed to have gained plenty of insight from this book.

The only book you need to read on the Bible to know the truth behind what the Bible entails. It all encodes the sun and the path of the sun - 12 apostles, 12 signs of the zodiac, etc. A must read for all Christians to get at the truth . A real eye opener. Thankful this book is still in print. This 14 dollar option is pretty good quality. Don't spend 30 dollars on the other IMO.

Ordained as a priest in the Church of England, Taylor clearly knows the bible back to front and the whole book constitutes just over twenty sermons that he gave around the 1830's. Not surprisingly he was persecuted for such, especially by the church who didn't like having the true meaning of the bible revealed and so wanted him locked up for blasphemy. Taylor clearly explains, although in rather archaic language, the astrological nature of the new testament and the pagan sun worship that is effectively disguised metaphorically within its passages. Every Christian should read this book and wake up to the truth that they have been deceived as to the true meaning behind many of the passages, especially Jesus (the son) the 12 disciples (the signs of the zodiac which the sun passes through) and much more.

I already knew a lot of what is written here but there is still plenty more to learn. Very interesting. One star lost though as the print is fairly small and when it is in italics it is impossible to read without a magnifying glass even if I am using my better reading glasses.

Great Book!

I wish the world still had scholars of the quality and integrity of Rev. Robert Taylor in this day and age. But sadly, we really don't. No other book is really needed though to reveal the true meaning of the Bible, as it sends the laughable and moronic notion, that Jesus and all other fictional characters of the Bible would've been historical persons; permanently to the dustbin of discarded delusions.
