Bought through Amazon and chose to buy it used! This was a great option because it still shipped quickly and was in good shape, but for a better price. Plus the story is so fun and the illustrations are wonderful and detailed throughout.

Story and illustrations go wonderfully together.
I think most kids would want this story read over and over. Using a "woolly mammoth" makes it fresh idea, rather than our typical pets we read about. Illustrator has the little girl walking on top of mammoth to get to his shampoo. I think it's the best picture in the book for artistic. But the entire 32 pages are fun .

Funny How-to book for kindergarten
This is a wonderful book to be used as a mentor text with the How-to unit of Writers Workshop.The illustrations are funny and appealing to kids.

My 5 year olds new favorite book.
My 5 year old loves Woollys and really enjoyed this book. We read it all the time. Cute story and fun images.

Silly, Good Clean Fun
How to Wash a Wooly Mammoth is such a sunny and funny book about a little girl trying to wash her pet mammoth. No simple task, to say the least.Through step by step instructions, we see her attempts to get him into the bathtub, scrub his belly and wash his fur. We loved seeing him drink from the tub with a straw and using cake as bait. (Does that work with your kids?) But when he gets soap in his eyes, it’s all over!In the end, she realizes that by including him in the bathing process (he gets into the bathtub with her) does she finally get her mammoth clean.

Fun book for young students!
This would be a good book to use when teaching sequence, or the order of steps needed to complete a task. In my classroom, we also tied it to a larger lesson about Wooly Mammoths from the news. The kids enjoyed it!
