Good size bin. Allows enough material for a few days of use without needing to empty it daily. The lid fits fairly well and keeps smells contained. It could probably do with a charcoal filter on the lid though. It dissembles for easy cleaning and the bag holder rim works nicely.

We love this counter top compost bin. We've never had any issues with smells and it's very easy to clean. It's exactly the size I was looking for- doesn't take up too much space, and holds the right amount- we usually empty it every few days. It seems durable- isn't showing any wear after 7 months of daily use. I'd recommend this product!

This is a perfect size to sit on the kitchen counter top next to the sink against the wall. The lid stays open and is easily removed. The entire bin mostly has smooth surfaces to allow for easy cleaning. Incredibly easy to line with a bag and the lid keeps the bag from drooping. Sturdy handle. Absolute amazing job to the folks who designed this with so much thoughtfulness.

I ordered the smallest one first and something told me to look at the next size up and ordered that too but not in time to arrive the same day. It's very hard to tell, even from my or other people's pictures how small these really are. They are small!! Even though they look almost the same at first glance, the slightly larger one is def better. If you break down the price difference, it's definitely worth getting the larger one. The smaller one does not have a pull up lip to keep the garbage bag in place, not that you can't fold it over the edge. I have to say, in all my years of traveling, the small one is like a very small hotel room ice bucket. The next larger size up doesn't look much different, it really just has the height of the bag lip/rim but it is slightly larger. Some people said they put the small one in the fridge which I would never do because that real estate is too precious to me! But I put this on a box for now until I come up with something more creative because if there's food in it I don't want to take any chance of bugs/ants etc. getting in it. Even for a single person household the small one is ridiculously small in my opinion but not just mine because the first one I got was a return. I could tell by the missing & half covered packaging compared to the second one. Still I think overpriced but attractive enough & considering I really need to compost more items (and everyone says it keeps out the smells) I will give this a chance. The food scraps I throw in my garbage now can be unbearable even though the garbage comes every week. Other reviews of other small composting bins talked about filters that eventually fruit flies may have laid eggs in which I found disturbing as well as ventilation holes which why would you do that?! If there are any issues with this I will come back to this review. At the same time I ordered the 2 gallon clear HOMMALY bags and they fit perfect.

Love this!!! Easy to clean, keeps the odors inside and being able to put items it when your nands are otherwise occupied or dirty is a godsend for me. Handles make it easy to transport to the compost bin. Easy to replace the bags inside and to hold in place so it doesn't collapse on you as it fills up. I would have loved a slimmer version of the bucket, but I can deal with it. Very happy with my purchase.

Living in NYC, our building now has very strict composting protocols and our building (yes, building, not only the city) is imposing fines on people incorrectly disposing of garbage. So despite living in an apartment, we have had to adapt to storing biodegradable waste. Despite frustration and fury at the prospect, I bought the larger of these two containers and can't say enough good things about it. I love the size, the lid, the capacity, the material it's made of, the handle - the list goes on. It's perfect for city living. It's easily washable, no odors in the kitchen. There isn't a single thing I don't like about this product. As much as I dreaded adapting to it, segregating bio/wet waste has become a breeze. Thank you to the previous posters who recommended buying the larger of the two sizes because in terms of counter space it's not much difference and the larger size is just right.

We use this for cleaning our cat litter because it's small, lightweight, and easy to transport with the handle. We needed something with a lid because we keep it outside and did not want flies or any other animals getting into the litter. It's the perfect size, it's made with sturdy plastic, and was not too expensive.
