CONGO Set of 2 Commercial Swing Hangers Galvanized to Attach to Wooden Beams - Now Includes Bonus Hanging Snap Hooks (Carabiners)

Bought a few sets of these for a swing set that needed to hold both kids and adults. They hold quite well and are very stable.The hangers are made in china and come in a nondescript box. Packing is minimal as these are fairly durable. They were heavier than I expected.Installation was completed using lag bolts into a 4x6. I know there is an ongoing debate on lag bolts vs. carriage bolts for installation. The lag bolts work great and have a very solid feel. My install was solid at the onset and still tight after seasonal temperature changes and aging lumber. There's no play and I've had +200 lbs adults using them.I took one of these to the hardware store and bought the largest lag bolt where the shank would still fit through the hole in the hanger. The downside to this method is that it makes installation more difficult. You have to unscrew the nut and bolt that hold the eye in place. Otherwise, there's not enough room to get a socket on the lag bolt. The bolt is threaded through the hangar, so you have to remove the nut and then unscrew the bolt as well vs. the bolt sliding out after you have removed the nut. I pre-drilled holes and used an impact wrench to get the lag bolt secured. Everything went back together easily.While you have this apart, I recommend greasing the eye and the bolt shank. One of my hangars is already squeaking.

These are extremely heavy duty. We have had them installed on our swings since March of 2016. They are performing well. We wanted the swing to be adult friendly and these (paired with a strong set of swings) has given us the ability to use my daughter's swing with no worries of the stress being placed on it from heavier people.I read the reviews before and knew the hangers were substantial pieces but even seeing pictures and reading those reviews didn't prepare me for the monster size they are. Its ones of those things you have to see and feel in person to fully understand the level of quality these are.These look and feel like they will last a lifetime.I would highly recommend these.

First of all, it is a solid set of hangers. As you've read in other reviews they are heavy, and big. I knew when I ordered them that the hardware wasn't included, and I was prepared to pick up the necessary hardware locally. The hardware to install these hangers added another $13/swing. So, if you can find similar hangers with hardware for your installation you could end up saving some money. For just shy of $40/set (including the cost of the hardware) I still feel like these are worth it. After my son took an unexpected flight when our old hardware broke I didn't feel like taking any chances on the replacement.To install in a 6" beam I needed the following:4, 3/8"x7" carriage bolts, 6 1/2" would be better, but my hardware store didn't have that size.4, washers to fit the bolts4, Nylock nuts to fit2, Anchor Shackles 1/4", this was the only way to attach the smaller size chain of my swings to the larger size ring on the hanger. rapid links that would fit the hanger were too big for the chain, and if they fit the chain the gap wouldn't slip around the hanger ring. If you have heavier chain on your swings you could use rapid links without any trouble.It is a very solid setup.

These are big - 2" wide, by 5" long and hang down about 3 1/2". Everyones' situation is different, but thought I'd share I've used these to mount a heavy patio swing to rafters on the front porch. They are galvanized, so wiped them down first with vinegar, rinsed, primed with a galvanized metal primer from Home Depot, then painted to match the beams, otherwise they are so huge they are a bit noticeable. Used stock Home Depot 4" long 3/8" lag screws (predrilled 3/4" into the wood with a 3/8" bit, then 3 3/4" into wood with 9/32 bit); also used wax and vegetable oil on the lag screws to keep them turning smoothly while I HAND tightened with a ratcheting socket wrench. Having a lag screw strip is a pain so I don't mind the extra steps. Looks sturdy to me and no squeaking so far but have only been up a short while. Love them.

Nice and heavy duty, but it didn't take long for them to start to rust.

Buyers aware these a plastic bushings and can be purchased at your local walmart for 11.00 ea when i brought this to there attention they just ignored me.Work great but false advertising that there brass bushings.

I was stunned when I opened these. They were HUGE and very heavy. It's not that they weren't well constructed or sturdy, they were. The thing is, they're more like something that might be used in bridge construction.Far too big to even fit the beams that my porch swing hangs from, or those on a childrens' wooden swing setsI would have given the product 3 stars, because aside from being gigantic, they were strong and well made. But I'm unhappy that the company would not let me return them without a re-stocking fee, which, with the return postage would have been equal to the cost. I sold them later at a yard sale.These should not be advertised as porch swing hangers along with regular porch swing hangers. They are suitable only for some sort of (very) heavy construction.

These did a great job, very heavy duty. Get the largest lag bolts you can get that fit the holes and it holds great. I think they were 1/2 inch, but would have to double check. Make sure to have some oil, dish soap, or wax to help get the bolts into the pre-drilled smaller diameter holes. I added springs as well, painted everything to match desired color and looks great. Very quiet, extremely smooth.
