GREAT sauce, not so great price.
First of all, these are RIDICULOUSLY expensive! However, I REALLY wanted to make pizza and see if I could find a ketchup substitute, so I bought the set. I REALLY liked the taste of both sauces, as did my husband, so I am looking forward to using them both. I didn’t think that the marinara actually tasted like a tomato based marinara would, but it will be a great tomato-free option, since I break out in rashes now when I eat tomatoes. I will add some seasonings to it just as I would do for any jarred sauce. The ketchup does not have the consistency of typical ketchup, but it is delicious. It reminds me of something that I ate growing up…chow-chow, I think. It will be perfect as a sauce for wings or even ribs. I also think that it could be used to make a great meatloaf. However, after I use these up, I might have to try to make my own. Update: I made pizza and it was delicious! I DID have to jazz up the sauce with more seasonings, parmesan cheese, and a dash of red wine vinegar. I also let it simmer so that it reduced a bit. I ended up ordering some more directly from the manufacturer, because even though it is expensive, it IS a bit cheaper than on Amazon. I’m also not QUITE ready to commit to making it just yet. I can get several uses out of one jar, so I’ll keep using it until I actually feel like making my own.

Great taste
Love it because no tomatoes

Pretty good considering it's made without tomatoes
Having to give up tomatoes was very hard, this sauce is the closest I have come to being able to enjoy pasta again. The price keeps going up, so I can't buy as much as I'd like, but it tastes pretty good considering there aren't any tomatoes in it. The seller has been great to work with. Only once I received a jar with the seal broken, and they immediately sent me a new one.

Great Alternative to Spaghetti Sauce, but
It is very bland. If you’re use to a lot of flavor & spices, I would suggest adding in your own herbs and spices. I got a pan and threw some olive oil on it, then added chopped fresh onions, garlic and basil. Added oregano seasoning, although fresh oregano might be better. I then added a dash of rice vinegar, and a dash of salt . Cayenne Pepper(optional) …I added some cayenne for a little heat factor. Let that sauté a bit and then add in the sauce until hot. You can add a dash of water if you find it to be a bit thick. The rice vinegar will create a more acidic taste, so if you don’t want that, skip that part. Will be buying again, would like to try it on pizza next!

Painful
I bought this product because it was advertised to be safe for people with Interstitial cystitis. Well I made spaghetti last night and I used it, the taste is very good but the end result is I have a raging bladder infection. And that was the only product that I used that could have been problematic.

Worth the Money.
Quiet tasty. Used the sauce just like spaghetti sauce. Added a few other spices. It was great!

Not a bad substitute...but needs seasoning (included recipe I for 'mock Prego meat sauce' in review)
From opening the bottle it smelled like a perfect tomato sauce and so was really hopeful. And it doesn't taste half bad, however it has a bitter aftertaste like an old carrot top, and has a sweetened beet hint to it that kind of throws your taste buds off. First I need to say that I purchased this jar as a quick afterthought before I received a shipment of a dozen from the company itself that is due to arrive in another week, (didn't want to wait and needed to know what I was in for -- so keep in mind this can be purchased more economically on the company website, but it takes longer to arrive). For me to get this jar before hand gave me time to think of how to incorporate it for a parent that has tomato allergies and was sorely missing tomato's. If you're expecting to use this right out of the jar -- you coooouuuuuld, but it didn't work for me. so for those of you that ordered and thought it was going to taste just like prego...you'll be disappointed with the taste, and thats why today I spent the afternoon cooking with it and came up with a 'mock Prego meat sauce' that even my Sicilian mom approves of (who came down with the tomato allergy about a year ago). Hopefully this will help ease the blow of your disappointed tastebuds. Ingredients: clove of garlic (or minced garlic, garlic powder) 1/2 onion (or onion powder) 5 oz ground beef (or meat of choice) olive oil for cooking (as well as adding to flavor later) 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning (or fresh basil and oregano) 2-4 tablespoons of fresh granted parmigiana Reggiano 1 tsp sugar (or if your watching sugar intake : 1 packet spenda/ or sugar substitute) 1/2 teaspoon salt (or 1 anchovy) In medium heat coat medium saucepan with olive oil, slice garlic clove in half and remove the center (the bitter part) and crush the two halves and place in pan with 1/2 minced onion till translucent. Add ground beef and brown (at this point you can leave in the two garlic parts if you want, remove it later or just leave it in depending on how much garlic taste you like in your sauce). When the beef is browned, add the whole jar of Nomatto, the Italian seasonings, salt, an the cheese. Cover and let simmer over low heat for 20 minutes (stirring occasionally) About halfway though you can add the sugar substitute, depending on your taste preferences) The flavors will meld together, and after 15 to 30 minutes should be perfect. depending on your taste, you can ad more seasonings. Since this is pretty much the only alternative right now that I can use for tomato's I'll take it. However just keep an open mind when you get it. Just think of it as a tomato sauce base you have to season to get to be a tomato sauce and it'll be fine!
