12 X 12 X 1.5 Square Industrial Thick Pizza Stone

Had a thin stone from Pampered Chef that never thrilled me. I eventually tossed it because it made no difference than a cookie sheet. When I got back into bread baking, I did some research and a nice thick stone seemed to be the general method of success. I preheat the oven with this stone for about an hour so it heats all the way through, slide my loaf (on top of parchment) onto the stone, and the rise and bottom crust are amazing. Don't skimp and get the 1", go for the gusto with this one and you won't be disappointed.

Buyer beware!!!This pizza stone is not designed for use in residential applications, it's intended for use in industrial pizza ovens.The stone is so thick it takes over 1hr to get hit enough to cook on it, lots of wasted energy to cook a pizza....I'm not happy with my purchase.If you are looking for a good quality pizza stone that will not crack, buy one that is 5/8 inch thick, this stone is way too thick. Works and fits perfectly for the oven in our RV.

It's solid... really, REALLY solid (and heavy - like 15 lbs heavy) I'm more worried about the rack in my RV oven collapsing than the stone cracking. If you're using this stone in an RV oven, pay particular attention to the thickness. In mine, the 1 1/2" thickness keeps my oven rack from seating on the runner so it is difficult to slide the rack in and out. A 1 1/4" thick stone would have been perfect, but that's not the stone's fault... it's really fantastic quality. In retrospect, I'd have gotten their 1" industrial stone.

Great pizza stone! Very well made. We wish we would have bought a thinner one. This thing is massive and is very heavy, no grabbing it out of the oven with one hand.
