Time for a Nap (Volume 9) (Snuggle Time Stories)

"What time is it? Time for a nap!" Wonderful book, works very well for a naptime routine.
Great book which became an indispensable part of our naptime routine. The book is about a little bunny and his mother, showing their busy week and how the bunny naps each day. We bought this book when our daughter was 6 months old and she immediately took a liking to it and now at nearly 8 months squeals with every page as she does with all her favorite books.Reading some negative reviews about this book on amazon, made me unsure if I should buy it - a concern of others was that the bunny in the book supposedly is reluctant to nap and the book does not explain why a nap is helpful. However, I did not find that to be the case.In fact, since the book follows the bunny throughout the week and the naps look different each day, I think it's great for children to identify themselves with the bunny (or to talk about these differences) - some days napping is easy, other days there is some fussing, yet other days they don't want to nap at all. But the bunny eventually always naps, which is great. Some days napping is in the stroller, other days on a blanket, on mommy or in bed (I like that it shows this variety of napping).I also think, the text provides reasons why it's good to nap in simple child-friendly language "Tired, cranky. Bunny, blankie!" Or our favorite one "Too tired to jump. No zip, no zap. What time is it? Time for a nap!" Generally, the text is absolutely adorable with a great rhythm. For us this book works perfectly and I would highly recommend it - it's definitely in our top 10.I do want to point out that the book is quite long, especially for a napping book. Longer books are usually no problem for our little one. But I could imagine how a baby or younger child that gets very cranky around nap time or doesn't have the attention span for longer books yet, this might just be too much. However, since all days of the week are displayed - it could still be read in smaller portions. When our daughter has a bad day, I only read part of the story to her and the book still works it's naptime magic on her. The nice thing is that the catch phrase "What time is it? Time for a nap!" Is always repeated for each day (a total of 5 times due to Thursday/Friday and Saturday/Sunday being combined) and so it is easy to just stop after that phrase. In fact, this phrase is so catchy that I already "prepare" our daughter for the upcoming nap time while I clean her or while she plays by saying it and it always makes her giggle even when she is already yawning or rubbing her eyes.

Has become part of our nap routine.
My 2.5 year has started trying to drop his nap, so we have been reading this story and another one called "Naptime" by Elizabeth Verdick before nap. He loves this book and thinks its quite cute, which it is, and is mostly about a bunny resisting a nap but still falling asleep. My one gripe is that it is about a bunny who takes lots of naps on the go, like in a stroller, on the lawn, on moms lap, which is not helpful if you are trying to tell a kid it is important to stay in their crib for their nap. This is very nit picky, but if like me you are seeking a book that will calm your little one into a conventional in their crib nap, this may not be it. I like the Verdick book better as it is little more straight forward and talks about why naps are important instead of being about a cheeky bunny. But it is a very cute book.

SO CUTE!
Seriously. I can’t get over how cute the little drawings are, and the rhyme scans perfectly. I hate when you stumble over reading because someone has done poor poetry. Not here! I have all four books of this little bunny mom and baby and we adore reading them. Cute, cute, cute.

Her favorite!
We started off with Time for a bath, it is my two year olds favorite book so I thought to search and see if there were any books similar. Time for a nap has become one of her favorites as weep. She always brings it to bed for nap time for mom or dad to read.

Adorable & precious, buy it!
My 3.5 mo loves it. Let's her know it's naptime. I love that it's rhyming, beautifully illustrated, talks about days of the week, talks in repetition, talks about real life activities, the young bunny could be either gender, and this is working for my young infant but will also work when she's a toddler. Adorable and precious, buy it!

Cute but not for teaching to nap.
This is a cute book and my kids like it, however it has unhelpful ideas. I bought this book to try to convince my 2 year old to nap. However, it shows the child bunny being upset and saying he doesn’t want to nap with no resolution.

Really helped with our toddler
What a great book. My two-year-old recently decided that he was no longer going to take naps. I was desperate to find something to help him want to nap again. He loves reading and so I stumbled across this book. The story is really cute and rhythmic and the bunny takes naps even when he doesn't want to.

Stick with Time for a Hug.
I purchased because my kiddo loves Time for Hug -- for some reason, he can't stand this book. The rhymes are clunkier.

Cute
A cute little book for cueing nap time. I’ve used it with my baby since she was around 7 months old as part of her nap routine and expect it will still be something we can use well into toddlerhood as she can interact more with the story and understand the words. Nice rhyming rhythm.

Lovely board book
Our 16 month old loves pointing at things she recognizes, especially the stroller, squirrels, and birds. We live the poem, but don’t always get to read the whole thing in full because our eager page turning baby powers through in anticipation. You want nap time? Okay! As parents, we like rhyming books a lot, especially well rhymed books with good rhythm. This book and Time for a Hug are very nice. The one about a trip is good too, but the bath one seems the clunkiest.

My grandkids love this book so much I purchased a second one for my house. I've also purchased "time for a bath, and time for a hug" in this series.
