Lots of clams.
Excellent. Surprisingly full of clams and a rich delicious red sauce. I serve with pasta and nothing else. Really good sauce.

Less expensive is not a reason not to purchase
This is a great tasting clam sauce, lots of clams and very reasonably priced

Almost fantastic...
Great flavor, but not enough of it..... My helpful hint: Add some fresh minced garlic (alot if you prefer, like me) and a littly dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc). Also add a can of Snow's clams, strained. And now it is a 5 star homemade clam sauce.

yes, there are clams. Nice flavor in every bite that clings to pasta, doctor up or eat as is
Soaks up into the pasta making for perfectly balanced bite. dont often eat clam sauce, really a rare thing. Not my go to flavor profile. But I dont mind it. So when I saw this on sale, I decided to buy a case as I figured it would help flesh out my longer term pantry. Gives it a little added variety for something different. Stock what you eat, but also add in variety (and buy on sale). Works fine on pasta, or use as a base to chowder. Robust fishy clammy taste with chunks of clam, Layered flavor with garlic, parsley, black pepper, onion. You may prefer to add other seasonings. May want to add more clam if you need the added texture (tastes plenty clammy as is). Every clam sauce is different. What makes it good to you is subjective. To me, it's tasty. It is a bit brothy. As far as I know, clam sauce is supposed to be a bit brothy, not creamy or thick. The flavor clings well to the pasta. I dont have broth sitting in the bowl. I simply warm this up, divide over pasta, grate some parmesan cheese on top, maybe add a chunk of bread. Definitely tastes liked clams. I dont know what else to say.. I find it perfectly fine. Maybe if I had it more often then I would have more discerning tastes. But my knowledge and experience is limited regarding clam sauce. I can only just say that I personally liked it. 4.5 stars

Red and White Clam Sauce
Great price. The price per can in Calabasas, CA is RIDICULOUS...Thank God for Amazon and the great price per can. I use the sauce to combine with the red sauce (gravy to some) when making pasta. Great zing and flavor to any red sauce!

Cans were dented
The first time I purchased this item I was very satisfied. The expiration date was over a year in the future and the item arrived well packed. Unfortunately, the second time I purchased this item several of the cans were deeply dented. I did not know if the seal was compromised allowing bacteria to enter. Didn't want to take a chance so I had to throw them away.

Delicious Tuscan Red Clam Sauce
I have always bought Snow's New England Clam Chowder and chopped calms to add to dishes (mainly pesto sauce for linguini), and I am very glad I tried this Tuscan Red Clam Sauce from them. It's delicious with a blend of wheat, spinach, and protein-rich spaghetti (I use a third of each type). A little grated parmesan cheese (the real kind) and it's as good as eating out in a restaurant! It's simple to make too, just heat it up on the stove. Nothing else has to be added. It heats up pretty fast too, so I cook it closer to when the pasta will be ready so both are hot when added together. I have ordered the case of 12 cans many times now over a couple of years, and one thing I've noticed about the orders is one batch is sometimes a thicker sauce than another batch. I say "batch" because all the cans in that same order of 12 cans are always consistent. It's not until I order a new group of 12 cans (when I'm down to my last 2) that I notice this. I have this sauce once a week, so I can tell right away when it's a little thicker (meaning it's a bit creamer instead of thinner and a bit more runny). Now both ways are tasty and you probably wouldn't notice it if you only ate this sauce occasionally, but as a weekly stable it's just something to watch out for. It sometimes also has a lot more clams than other times (maybe that's a seasonal thing when clams are more abundance? I don't know.). But, I also think this could all show it's made in smaller batches and in a more "homemade-like" way before it's canned (or at least I hope that's why!). It also makes me feel it's more like a "restaurant meal" this way. In all the times I've ordered this only once I received cans that were dented. (And that time it was about 5 cans that had big dents with the others either being fine or only slightly dented.) The outer box it came in was fine with no tears or problems. So the cans had to have been packaged with dents. But other than that one disappointing time the other orders came just fine. So if that happens (as others have noted) don't think it's standard. It isn't likely with most orders. Hope this all helps with your decision to try this sauce. Enjoy it if you do!

Love this stuff. I like to mix two cans of this with a can of clam chowder.
