Poor experience with the resin, but fantastic customer support.
Purchased a new Elegoo Saturn 4 printer as an upgrade form my Mars 2 Pro. I had a little Anycubic water washable Resin left over so used it up in my first batch pf prints and using the default settings everything came out perfect. As I was running low on Resin I thought I wold be better off using the same brand of resin as the printer so purchased a bottle of Elegoo water washable resin. It's now Tuesday and I've already used up the 1kg bottle. Not because I've done 100's of perfect prints, far from it. Nearly every print failed. Either it detached at the supports, or simply produced a miss shaped print. I tried changing the settings to those suggested on YouTube, and by using the downloadable profile - all the same. With the last bit of resin left I ordered a bottle of Anycubic Water washable 2.0 resin which arrived today. I used the last bit of the Elegoo resin to print off some N scale model containers and every one failed again. I cleaned the build plate and resin vat and then filled the vat with the Anycubic resin. I did nothing else, just set the machine to print off the same file that had just failed. 90 minutes later it finished and I had 10 perfect parts, all still attached to the build plate via the supports. So why did I give this review 5 stars, because of the fantastic after service care. Elegoo reached out to me after Amazon published the above review. I sent a few images of the poor results, along with the batch number. Over the course of a few days and an exchange of messages a refund was offered and accepted. The funds were back in my account within a couple of days. So whilst my experience with the resin was not great, the service and supports post purchase was second to none.

Much easier clean up
I have been using a resin 3D printer for around a year. Prior to that I used a filament printer for some time. I bought a resin printer because I liked the quality in smaller prints. I was not however excited about working with a liquid. My brother who has many resin printers suggested water washable to me. I have a clean and cute station but I didn’t like the thought of having a big tub of alcohol on the side and waste loads of it for the infrequency I print. I got a couple of bottles of this and it’s really easy to use. I take the whole plate off my printer after it’s had a short while to drip and put it right into the wash station with warm water in it. When it’s done I trim it and find it really easy to do once it’s been in warm water and then onto the cure station. Worth noting for those of you new to this - do NOT throw the water you wash it in or run any of the resin down the sink. That’s a good way to screw up your pipes. I have a spot outside where I dump the water away from where any animals would have a sniff around and where there’s no plants. I also don’t clean up my tank anywhere near as often as I should but I’ve found it’s no issue to stir around the resin with my finger, pour more in, stir again and go printing. Just again make sure there’s no UV light or direct sunlight anywhere near the machine.

It's a good product packaging needs work.
The resin itself I have no issues with, it has been doing really well and in this time of it being difficult to get IPA has been a god send so far has been useful to have, also the not having to clean with alcahol has been a god send to my skin and nose. Once my printer was tuned in correctly it has given me some wonderful prints and some much quicker and easier cleaning time. My only issue has been the bottle itself. The lid appears to be broken, this has caused the bottle to gather dry resin around the lid, After each use I had sealed the bottle, returned it to the box and then put the box in the storage cupboard, a few days ago I noticed a tiny wet patch in the box, thought nothing of this as the sink is directly above the cupbaord this is stored in, today I was refilling the printer and cleaned the dry resin from around the bottle mouth and noticed the bottle top had seperated from the lid of the bottle. I thought this was odd then realised that this was what was casuing the leak! I had been storing it in the box and then placing the box on its' side in the cupboard, and as a reult the resin had been slowly leaking into the box. I haven't lost a great amount of resin, but it is a bit od a design flaw if the resin can erode the lid. It is now standing upright in the cupboard and the bottle has been cleaned adn the resin filtered back in to make sure there is no dry resin in the liquid form. Moral don't leave the bottle on its side, or design a slightly better lid.

Good quality resin
This is my first foray intro Resin Printing. I have been using FDM printers for 6 years now, and I wanted to try out the MSLA option too. This is my first time using resins, and I chose this Elegoo Water Washable resin as a beginner. First of all the bottle came well packed, inside a box and sealed in a thick plastic bag so no real risk of getting resin everywhere I'd the bottle breaks. The bottle itself is plastic, but very strong and thick, and it comes very well sealed. It also had a small brush in the package. The resin smells. Quite bad. I can't compare it to other resins, but it is an acrid smell. I bought a respirator and filters for VOCs and I don't have any problems now. First time using it without a mask, it did give me bad headaches. Dialing in the resin wasn't very difficult. I used Elegoo's spreadsheet to match my printer settings (Elegoo Mars 3 Pro). The test print that came with the printer came out fine. I also did a Siraya Tech calibration which helped me dial in the settings further. This was washed in tap water (not in the sink). I think it doesn't clean very well the small details, but I used the brush that came in the package to get in every nook and cranny. Still, an ultrasonic cleaner would probably produce better results. I have cured the resin with a small UV light I have from smartphone tempered glass installation kit and it seemed to work well enough. I do need a proper UV light to do it. Even after curing there is a smell to the printed parts. I'm not sure if that's from the curing light not being strong enough. But you can only smell it if you hold the prints close to your nose. All in all I'm happy with this resin. I just wished it was cheaper.

My gateway to resin printing
I have used FDM printers since 2012 but while the latest Prusa Mk3 prints excellent functional parts it is not good enough for miniatures. I have been keeping an eye on resin printing for some time but it is only now with the availability of water washable and plant based UV resins that I was happy to try printing my own pieces. I have been using the Elegoo water washable grey for some weeks now and once I had established workable exposure settings on my Creality LD-002r printer I have achieved generally good to excellent results. The workflow with resin printing is generally messy but the Elegoo water washable resin means that water can be used to wash the parts rather than IPA or harsh cleaners so there are less toxins involved. You still have to be careful over disposal but a dose of UV in the curing station and filtering will simplify that to a degree. I plan on getting more of this resin once back in stock and also look to try the Anycubic Soy based resins.

good resin
i only use water washable now, to be honest i find it no different in quality to the normal resin, some people say its more brittle but i don't think its any more brittle than the standard resin in the models i have printed and you don't need to wash it in alcohol

Easy to work with and great results
I bought this material as an alternative to the resin that you need to wash in IPA. The first prints I did cracked but I think I didn't shake the bottle enough before the first print. I have printed 8 times since and there have been no issues since. The difference is now I have shaken the bottle but I think it is important to wash any leftover resin in the product. I do this with an acoustic wash tank for a few minutes. The detail is amazing and the grey is very striking. This is far easier than washing in IPA and the smell is a little less (still a smell).

Affordable consistent durable resin
The water washable has improved my life greatly, no longer toxic cleaning liquid fumes. I have had great consistency when printing with this resin, only 1 failed print that was due to build plate not clean enough so that fault is on me. The colour really stays sharp even after wash where other brands got matted, it has that deep emerald green transparency. The picture shows my every day carry that has been used daily and shows no signs of decay, cracks or degradation of the plastic. I am extremely satisfied.
