The materials will most likely withstand most harsh environments, however, I am using this in an office that has very few outlets and the fire marshal advised us to stop daisy-chaining the extension cords to get power out to an open space. We bought a 16-outlet strip with a 15-feet cord and now are in conformance to the local code. The cable extends from an outlet in an office to the open area, and travels across a walkway. This ramp is a bit over-specified but does the job well. Highly visible and extremely rugged. Curiously, the product let out a very strong stench (chemical smell) for a week or so, and can still be detected after a few months. It is probably the chemical they use to separate the product from the mould that makes the product, but I wished the factory would have prepped/cleaned it for indoor use as well (thus the minus one star). Other than that, the flap works well, and everything fits. The channels are big enough for several power cables and even a few network cables with room to spare. I have another one on standby, in the event we need to replicate the code-conforming retrofit elsewhere.
