So-so
I am a second year medical student, I bought these because I thought it'd be nice to have colored pictures along w/ the information about these organisms, however, even though it does tell you, say what virulence factors are responsible for disease, it doesn't necessarily explain why, so you would still need a text book to supplement material that is missing. Occasionally, it does give you specific information but there isn't a clear format to these cards because other organisms may not contain that same categorical information. This results in confusing cards. Also, most cards don't have a picture of the organism or the diseases that it causes. Some cards do, most do not, so keep that in mind.A better product for medical students is Microcards by Sanjiv Harpavat and Sahar Nissim, they give you the necessary information and explain why, which makes them a great learning tool.

Ehh
These are ok...I bought them end of 2nd year to review bugs and immuno for Step 1...for the most part, these cards are good because they're concise and to the point; they dont have a bunch of extra information cluttered onto each card in microscopic size font like some other flashcards do, and the pictures are helpful. But, I must say, even after studying these cards thoroughly, I think I only got 2 or 3 questions on my Step 1 that were relevant to the micro/immuno I studied. Just goes to show you that Step 1 is a rubbish exam, full of many tricks and suprises, so dont sweat the things that arent heavily tested. $30 for a set of flashcards is kinda pushing it IMHO, so I wouldnt recommend spending more than that.

I love it and should have bought this sooner!
I love the size of the box and the tips and tricks on the cards really did help me for my exams and quizzes. I should have bought this product sooner because with just a week of using it I was able to improve my test scores by 10 percent. This product is a must buy because even if you are not struggling in this subject the tips and tricks on the cards are always helpful.

Should have been better
I recently bought this set of "flash cards" and have stopped using them because they're not very useful as a study aid. They're basically just cards crammed full of information about each bug (or bugs -- sometimes there are multiple bugs grouped together on a single card), so they don't lend themselves to rapid review. The information is accurate for the most part, but the layout is quite haphazard and messy. My biggest complaint, however, is that these aren't flash cards at all, they're just review cards. The real power of proper flash cards is that they force you to recall information - ideally flash cards should have a question on one side and an answer on the other. These don't have that, they just contain summarised information back and front with no opportunity to test yourself.Ive just ordered the somewhat dated BRS micro review cards, which as it turns out ARE flash cards with a question and answer format, so I'll be hoping they turn out to be more useful than these ones.

Immunology section is a JOKE!!
The microbiology section is ok but even the micro section does not have enough detail for any medical student to do well on step 1. I bought these cards to study for step 1 and I felt like an idiot. I was tricked into buying these cards because of the previous comments here on amazon. Don't waste your money on this cards even FA has more information that will help you better. The immunology section seems it was written by a 5th grader. This is a joke. I will give the micro section 2 stars and the immunology section zero stars. The 2 stars on the micro section are for the pics on the card but not the information. The only positive thing about these cards is that they have very amazing pics. Don't be a fool and buy these cards.

This flash cards are nice and can help you organizing your study of immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases. Good for medical students!

Worked for MY class
I purchased the commonly recommended one at first, but saw another classmate with this one which happens to be made from the makers of the textbook MY school was using. The cards were sturdier and included more clinical pictures. I would recommended this over the "other commonly recommended one," which I ended up barely using.

Great review resource!
This flash card set has served me well in my current Med Micro class and has more info than what is demanded for this 4000 level class. This flash card set can serve a student well for review and learning.
