My sister has some of this for her 1-year-old, and I was envious of the nice smell! I ended up ordering some for myself and not only does it smell great, but it actually has really improved my sleep instantly. I did some research beforehand because I know that some trendy sleep aids (like melatonin) aren't good for longterm use, but it seems like the only controversy is whether you even absorb much magnesium through the skin. And if the placebo effect is responsible, I honestly don't care. I usually wake up 3-4 times during the night on a GOOD night. When I use this lotion, it seems like I wake up once MAXIMUM, usually not at all. I don't know if it's the magnesium, the lovely smell, or placebo, but it doesn't matter to me as long as it works! I honestly might have given it 5 stars for the smell alone.That said, yes, it is an oily lotion. Which is why I don't use it as a hand creme but put it on my torso like the instructions suggest. It doesn't really moisturize, as it actually seems to leave the finger that I use to apply it feeling dry, but since that isn't why I'm using it, it isn't a big deal to me. I usually just use my favorite hand lotion after applying it to take care of the dryness on my finger/hand, and that's that. It doesn't really absorb quickly, so it's best to put it on, then wear a loose-fitting nightshirt so you don't get oil all over your sheets. This hasn't been an issue for me, but if you wear something with a tighter fit, it's worth noting. I personally would not apply it during the day due to this issue (I also don't know if it would help me sleep if not applied near bedtime, I haven't experimented).

Love this stuff!! It works great for my baby girl. She wasn’t sleeping more than 1-2hrs at a time at 6months old. The first night I used this, she slept 4 hours straight then another 4 hours after a quick feed!

My toddler and I both use this lotion at bedtime. I wanted to improve our sleep hygiene and someone recommended magnesium lotion. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in our sleep with the lotion, but it does smell great! I feel like I am at the spa when I put it on. It is very thick and I feel that it moisturizes well. It is somewhat hard to wash off your hands though. I recommend for the great smell and moisturizing effects. I also like that it is all natural. The reason I am giving a 4 star is because it doesn’t really improve our sleep as advertised.

Great to rub on legs at night to help with achy legs and restless legs. Goes on smooth, minimal scent.

I’m not sure if this was working or if it was coincidence that we got our baby on a good sleep schedule. We started using this around 7 weeks old every night. It did irritate the back of his knees. We stopped using it a few weeks ago and he seemed to sleep through the night better. Not sure if this was keeping him up or what. The smell is okay, a little overpowering and definitely can tell when he had it on. A little bit goes a long way so we still have half a container left after using it every night for several months.

Just buy it—this is magic! I recommend it to everyone and rave about it whenever I can. It got me through pregnancy and foot pain, and I honestly can’t think of a single negative thing to say.

I used to have trouble sleeping until my friend recommended this product and I was skeptical but let me tell you, I use this EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. It is beyond amazing. I apply a dime size amount to each back of calf every night about 30-45 mins before I know I am ready for bed and then get in bed and let the lotion sink in and I am shortly asleep after. It is unreal. I will forever be a customer.
