Good in parts
I have had this 2704 n for 2 months. Saw is well built and the table top is flat in all directions. It cuts accurately and cleanly . Noise levels are better than many similar saws. The mitre fence doesn't fit the mitre channels without side ways movement and there is no way to adjust it for play. My incra mitre was easy to adjust to fit and all play could be stopped. Rip fence is not easy to adjust as 2 of the adjustment screws are hidden out of sight and you have to find the screw heads by feel. The fence scale is calibrated to the rip sub fence . If you want to use the fence without fitting this then the scale is 10mm out. Makita should have fitted a dual scale read out. The saw top guard gets in the way of setting the fence using a tape measure as it keeps dropping down. Top guard cannot be easily removed as it fastens through a hole, not an open ended slot, in the top of the riving knife with a torx security type bolt. The riving knife is fitted to the saw using 2 bolts through oval holes, not elongated open slots, and a torx security screw making removal very difficult. The anti kick back pawls have a quick release fixing and can be removed in seconds. A good saw but with many frustrating changes from the previous model. Worth seriously looking at the Dewalt table saw which avoids many of these problems.
