Echo Dot (3rd Gen), Charcoal Fabric + Philips Hue White Smart Bulb Twin Pack (E27), Works with Alexa - Smart Home Starter Kit

1st foray into the world of Alexa and I have to say, its pretty good. Works well with the Phillips bulbs I bought, now I can control the living space lights with my voice. Great for music, news all sorts of things really. Doesn't work though with my LG Smart TV despite following the instructions and downloading various apps. Also a fiddle to get it to play through my Sony sound bar. I have to do this through the Alexa app. If you're looking for plug and play, Alexa isn't it. It takes time, effort and some technical skill to get it all to work but when it does its a lot of fun.

I got this bundle pack in Black Friday sales making it a bit of a no brainer.Having the bulbs connect by Bluetooth means the frequent power cuts that require socket switches to be reset to the wifi aren’t an issue any more, prompting me to consider further purchases.The echo has a slightly better sound quality than my earlier one but still nowhere near usable for music. I Bluetooth it to my Ruark radio. If the earlier version like the one in my kitchen was still around cheaper (but brand new) that may be my next one.

Great value for money

We have a lot of these and find them really useful to control kids lights and also for audible although some of the books dont seem to marry up when requested chapter 6 of a book for example you will get chapter 7.

Such an improvement with the sound from the 1st Gen. Bought it for my sons room and he loves being able to call the kitchen to place his order!!! Voice recognition is really good and accurate.

I have been using Alexa for a whole year now and I must say that she is a must have for every household. From smarthome commands to alarm routines, these echo dots are a big bang for the buck. The phillip hue lights that came with this package are also bright, and extremely energy efficient. I am sure that this is a product worth using for literally anyone!

Like all Alexa products, this was my 3rd dot around the house, great sound quality and easy to set up.

Got the bundle as a present for a partially bed bound relative. They love being able to control there own lighting need instead of calling someone to help.
