Great for the price
I kept borrowing a hilti from a friend why building an apartment in my shop and finally broke down and got this. works better that the 700-900 corded models, at least beter than my friends hilti. very happy with purchase and surprised how well it works. Would definitly buy it again.

Excellent, low fatigue, high performance
This rotary hammer works so well, I was using my parents corded Bosch hammer drill when the brushes burnt out, and I’ve been adding to my 20v collection so figured it was time to buy my own hammer drill. But I decided might as well go one step further since I have so many drills and drivers already.I’ll start off with saying this doesn’t seem very powerful. I don’t know what all magic they’ve done in here but it feels anemic when the motor spins, the hammer drill from Bosch could be felt through your body, and could be heard down the block. This one is quiet, and here’s the weird part, it works so good at drilling through concrete. Used a 5/8” bit, went through the concrete without any struggle, barely put my weight on the device. It felt, in comparison to the Bosch, like it would be struggling, but it showed it up in record time. Seriously, like took like 5 seconds per hole to drill.I installed over a dozen tapcons for a pergola using this to drill the holes, worked beautifully. You will want a 5a or larger battery, one it will use it up somewhat quickly, and two those batteries actually contain a higher voltage unless you have the new power stack batteries. After using this, I had no arm fatigue at all. The shocks and everything built into the device made it so easy to handle, like using a normal drill to drill into soft wood.

DEWALT 20V MAX Rotary Hammer, SDS Plus, 1-1/8-Inch, Tool Only
The media could not be loaded. Great tool to have for chipping or concrete drilling. Very comfortable with the shock feature. Has an LED for better sight. Has option for dust extractor not included. Will work with any of the Dewalt 20V batteries.

Surprising Performance
I’ve had this drill for about a year and a half and have drilled a few holes in the hard rock around our house with impressive results. I had also purchased a bull point bit with the drill but hadn’t given it much though. We have some small hard rocky outcrops in our driveway that I’ve worked on over the years trying to get rid of, but they are so difficult to break out that I stopped working on them. I was experimenting with the bull point on another project where I need to break up some rock and was amazed at how well it worked, so I tried it on the obnoxious rock in our driveway and was once again amazed at what I was able to accomplish. Before I knew it, I had a sizable pile of broken rock and a whole lot smoother driveway. This is not a big bad jackhammer, but if you’re patient and efficient, you can do a lot of damage with this drill. I am able to work a couple of hours with a 6AH battery, and by the way, the Dewalt bull point is still as sharp as when I started using it. I am very satisfied with this hammer drill and would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely worth it for lighter work
Build quality is solid, it has really good power for its size, easy to use. Took out 3 commercial office block walls with it on day one. Compared it to a slightly larger electric Makita and although that had a little more power, I would take this cordless over it any day.

One tough hammer drill.
Bought to use on a hard rock mining trip. Used in Dolomite all day long without an issue. When used with DeWalt 20 Volt batteries I could drill 8-12 5/8 holes 12 plus inches deep in Dolomite per battery. It had the power to hammer drill 24 inches into Dolomite which was very impressive. The shock reducing handle is effective in reducing fatigue due to the reduced intensity of impacts felt. Highly recommened.

For the money, it’s MONEY, but a few nagging ergo. issues to remedy
Bottom line, for the money, this is one of the best bang for your buck SDS Demo/hammer drill’s you’ll find. Puts out just .3 Jules of energy less than its cousin for half the price. Sure it’s not as compact as the bottom motor mounted version, but it works nearly as fast and may have a better handle design(but that’s mostly preference). The biggest nagging issue for me is storing in my tool box. Why can’t they make this with a folding/removable handle? I have to remove the handle every time I put it away. I’d love to see one of these with a side folding handle.

Used When Finishing my Basement
I needed a good rotary hammer drill when finishing a basement room. I used it to pre-drill holes (~50) through the base plate into concrete pad. It worked like a charm. It drilled through the concrete like butter. With the proper hammer drill and drill bit (only needed 1 for the whole job!!) I saved a lot of time and eliminated all frustration and aggravation.
