I LOVE this phone case except for 2 things.The sound in it is great, unlike lifeproof which muffled my sound. This phone case feels comfortable to hold. It is waterproof as I tested it, camera works well under water too. I like the mute/unmute rotating feature...took me a minute to figure out how to get it to work though. You have to slide it in with the mute button side going in first. I love the clear back and I’ve had it for a while now and no scratches so that’s a good sign.Here’s what I don’t like...the charging port is covered by a piece that comes off. If it’s off completely that renders the phone not waterproof. It’s difficult to get it to stay on when I plug my auxiliary jack into it and put the phone on my dash phone holder. The piece at the bottom almost always comes off, then I have to remember to put it back in when I’m done. I just wish there was a better design for that or that it didn’t come off completely so easily. Second thing I hate, and why I almost didn’t buy this phone case, is because I don’t want to give a penny to the CDC. But at the end of the day you can’t shop at any major retail or anywhere that doesn’t support something you may not believe in, so I have to look at the product and not the cause, but it was hard.

The catalyst waterproof case caught my eye as I was browsing thru Amazon for a waterproof case for upcoming spring/summer fun. I usually opt for a Lifeproof Fre case, but the reviews of that case didn’t appeal to me. So I saw Catalyst and their version of a waterproof case. Since reviews are good for this phone and previous phones, why not. WELL NOW IM RETURNING IT LESS THAN 24HRS.I will admit, the sound thru the ear piece, and bottom speaker do sound a lot better than Lifeproof, with no complaints of folks on the other end when talking. Certain music/sounds you will be able to tell a difference and it does hinder some of the bass in my opinion. The overall case has a good, hefty, premium feel to it with adding just minimal bulk to the phone. If you have the Pro Max version, I hope you have a big hand. Also, the screen does not have that oily, rainbow effect either like the Lifeproof case may have. Now, the biggest complaint. The camera lens. For the most part, I’d say about 95% of the time, this case doesn’t interfere with the phones ability to take outstanding pictures. However, the reason I’m returning it is because of glare. Whenever taking a photograph in the direction of direct light, there is a bothersome glare in the picture. Just to be sure, I used my wife’s iPhone and mine next to each other and took the same picture. Mine with the case shows the glare of the light. (Looks like a streak of light coming from the source of the light itself) I didn’t spend, $1,000 on a phone with excellent camera quality, to be hindered by a $97 phone case. Nope. Some may be able to look past this, but with my attention to detail, this would bother me too much.

I have bought several of the Catalyst waterproof cases for my iPhones 7, X and 11 because in my opinion, they are THE best waterproof cases. I swim often in open ocean rough waters especially during the summer when I’ll swim for a few miles a week. I’ve even been able to capture underwater video of sea life at depths down to 15 feet (I usually don’t dive deeper). Understand that with any brand of phone case you buy that sells for or less than $89, you can NOT control the screen underwater. It’s impossible unless you have a more expensive and complex case with moving parts. Even if you don’t swim these waterproof cases can help your phone be more reliable. I know because I had to rely on my phone during a few severe storms. It also allowed me to contact Ops. after severe rain killed my work radio. I dropped my phone in deep flood water and it still worked but like any smart phone, you’ll still have to wipe as much water off the screen as possible for you to control the screen functions. Yes in my opinion, these cases are better than the many other cases I’ve tried but unfortunately like any plastic case, they are not indestructible. If you don’t poke any holes in them and don’t exceed their advertised structural limits these cases will keep your phone dry. Even when they are no longer waterproof for whatever reason, they will still make for a good protective case.

I got this case for my iPhone to record my stroke analysis while lap swimming. Paper work with the shipment recommended I test the case before using it. That’s a great idea because it leaked a little when I first did the test. I took it apart and dried the case to run it again. The second time it was ok. Installed my phone and off to the pool. It worked in the deck with splashing but when I dipped it about 1-2’ under water it leaked a little.Took it apart again and dried my phone off but it was too late. Evidently it was just enough water to damage the phone. Visited the apple store for a screen replacement. The issue seems to be with how it snaps together. I should have tested it again with the phone installed at home but I didn’t. Overall it’s a nice general case and I’ll use on the pool deck but no more submerging it under water. I was being cheap and didn’t want to pay for a GoPro. I’m going to go shop for a GoPro now 🤦‍♂️

So I’ve had Catalyst’s biggest competitor as my “go-to” case for all my Apple products (iPad Pro, iPhones etc) ever since I got my first iPhone.But for the new iPhone 11 Pro Max I decided to look at Catalyst because they had perfect ratings on Amazon and my previous case severely hampers sound quality and isn’t a feasible solution any longer. In terms of sturdiness and durability Catalyst exceeded, its edges are made from rubber but a stronger material, and the case doesn’t accumulate dirt and crime underneath the screen.. and people CAN FINALLY HEAR ME SPEAK!!!All that being said, the rubber piece cover the charging port fell off after 48hrs, so I think that needs to be reengineered as that might be the only thing their archenemies got right. Die Hülle ist wasserdicht, und macht genau, was sie soll.Der einzige negative Punkt ist die Abdeckung für den Ladeanschluss. Die Abdeckung ist abnehmbar. Während meine Kopfhörer in mein Telefon gesteckt waren, war die Abdeckung also nur noch mit einem kleinen Teil mit der Hülle verbunden. In diesem Moment muss die Abdeckung abgefallen sein und ich habe sie verloren.Ich habe mich dann an den Hersteller gewendet und es wurde eine zufriedenstellend Lösung gefunden. Ich habe dann meine neue Abdeckung direkt mit Sekundenkleber an einer Stelle an der Hülle fixiert. Jetzt ist sie wieder einwandfrei.

Can’t use phone underwater via touch screen. Have taken wonderful videos under water. Works well at protecting the phone

I tried the lifeproof case but the screen kept sticking to the phone screen and making touch points.this case is actually waterproof I tested it, without the phone inside, but none the less its a great casewould be better if it was half the price. GolfClash works great with this case and the lanyard is really handy too.

Super!!! Ist nicht meine erste Hülle, nutze die jetzt seit dem iPhone 5 und bin immer wieder zufrieden. Bis jetzt haben alle Handys auch Baustellen überlebt. Werden direkt nach Kauf eingepackt und sehen am Ende aus wie neu.
