Of course AC went out in middle of end-of-summer heatwave. Fortunately only capacitor. We ordered 2 so we could have spare for next time.This was right before Labor Day weekend and were not expecting to receive until after weekend but arrived early. Everything great. Perfect transaction and parts exactly what we ordered.

Works great and fixed the problem. Easy to install, too! I have 0 HVAC experience and easily removed the old one and replaced it with this one!

I have an inexpensive Digital Volt Ohm Meter that also checks Capacitance. Because I am going to use this as a spare, I checked the capacitor before I put it on the shelf. I found the 35nF side open and the 5nF side was reading some weird amount. I put a new battery in my meter and rechecked the Cap. I got 5.02 nF and the 35 nF side was open. I would have replaced a possible broken Cap in my HVAC unit with a broken Cap. Not good. Check the parts you get.

24 July 2022One of the first parts to fail in an HVAC condenser is the capacitor.It takes all of 5-10 minutes to replace one. (Disclaimer: Don't DIY this if you are not experienced and don't know what you are doing. A capacitor stores power and even if there are no wires hooked up to it there can still be stored energy in it and if you touch the terminals, it can kick the snot out of you.)On a 90+ deg day here in middle Tennessee, waiting on an HVAC service company to come and replace a capacitor can seem like forever.So, if and when the time comes, I am prepared, and I can have our system back online in no time.Because this is now a spare part on the shelf it was important to me to know that it was good and that it will work when the time comes. So, I bench-tested both of the internal capacitors and they passed.I'm prepared.FYI, buying a cap that has all of the correct specifications includes the diameter of the cap cylinder so that the bracket that holds the original cap will also work for the replacement cap. This cap has a diameter of 2".
