I'm learning a lot.
This is a good, simple overview of Adobe Muse. It's easy to follow and well organized. I was familiar with other Adobe products, but not an expert. This book has been very helpful as I worked on my website. The only thing I find difficult is seeing the tiny examples of the computer screen, especially at night when my aging eyes are not as clear. The best way to see the examples is to follow along on my own computer,

Not a manual
Book shows detailed steps in creating a complex website. Very well done, but that's it. Just one example. When I ran into trouble building my simple webpage, the book was of no help. Unlike a manual, it has neither generic explanations of features nor troubleshooting help.

Very clear Adobe Muse instruction
This is a very clear and concise primer on using the Adobe Muse application. It's very simple, especially if you are already familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite applications, such as InDesign. It's a very intuitive program and this book is nice since you can actually create a website, step by step. The screen capture images in the book are pretty small, so I use a magnifying glass, but if you work along with the project, you'll see it on your monitor anyway. Along with this book, I'm also using the Lynda training. Highly recommended!

Odd-duck book attempts to teach by example, but fails because the files needed don’t appear to be available.
A caveat right off the bat: this review may be based on an erroneous conclusion on my part and thus subject to revision. On page 3, author Asch says “All the necessary files for putting the example website together are available from the book’s accompanying website . . .”Well I went there using Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera. There is a vertical row of buttons, one of which is labeled “Resources” when you hover over it. Clicking on it does nothing. So using the book is a rough go since everything is revolves around putting together a website using the promised files. Moreover, the example is supposed to be a live website the author designed for a real company – that has been sold and undergone a name change and a redesign. In short, the book is essentially useless except as a sort of rough guide to putting together a website with Adobe Muse. The market for drag-n-drop website generators is pretty crowded. A book that wants to teach you how to use a program by following specific steps with specific files doesn’t work without the files.Having been impressed by Asch’s other work, this is both a surprise and a disappointment.I can’t recommend it until the author or publisher makes the files you need dependably available. If you have the materials, the book will guide you step-by-step in building a specific website. I don’t think it provides enough background information, though, to truly teach you the application.Jerry
