It’s like a heavier silkier t-shirt material. I am OCD so even tho it’s used like a jacket I have washed with every use. I use fabric softener and dryer sheets and holding up perfectly. The length was perfect. and as I am 5 foot 6 1/2 inches tall, it fell to just below my calves.Keep in mind that the washing instructions say to hand wash it in cold water and to hang it dry. That should help to keep shrinking to a minimum. It’s rayon, so it’s a natural fiber and if this breathes very nicely on a hot day. If you are someone who needs to keep her arms covered to the wrists due to religious reasons, the arm length will do nicely. I subtracted a star because it shrank two sizes in the wash. I washed it in cold water and hung it up to dry (I did NOT dry it in a dryer, and thank goodness I didn’t!). I ordered it a size larger than my normal size because I thought it might shrink, but now I have a tight sweater with sleeves that are 6 inches too short.
