Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield: The Official Galar Region Strategy Guide (Pokemon) : The Pokemon Company International: desertcart.in: Books Review: Received in a massively oversized box with ZERO padding. Compared to service standards from desertcart Japan, the difference is like night and day. Miraculously, it made it from the US to Singapore with minimal corner damage, in decent time. Otherwise, product is complete with decent print quality. Meets expectations. Review: If you want the most awesome gift for someone who plays Pokémon Sword and Shield, this is it! This large (11x8 inch) hardcover book (nearly 400 pages), is shipped in shrink-wrap plastic and arrived pristine. I actually got one for each kid, since it was on sale for half off. The retail price is 39.99 and you can see why. The cover is embossed with the two legendary Pokémon. The book comes with a lot of extras. A separate thick map (not rip out!) and separate type matchup chart, decals (stickers) that are sized suitable to put on the Nintendo Switch Joycon. A large sturdy high quality double pictured bookmark. Content of this Collector's Edition Strategy Guide: -Game Designers' Concept Art (10+ pages) -Getting Started/Overview (20+ pages) This is exceptionally well done if you don't want spoilers (in fact, the whole book gives 'quick overviews' if you want to avoid spoilers, phenomenal). Also contains a quick check off Pokedex, alphabetical list of detailed maps and zones, and if this is your first Switch game it has a detailed section about the controls, how to create user accounts, save files, etc. All differences between the two versions, and "Your recommended Route", a valuable super short version of the detailed walkthrough, all cross referenced with page numbers leading to other parts of the book, if you want more detail. -Walkthrough (~130 pages) This walkthrough may be the best one I've ever seen for any game. It is presented in a way that an elementary aged child can understand it without getting confused, and I think even grandparents who have never played a computer game could follow this. It is visually appealing and enticing, containing all the details, every hidden item, etc. Always allowing you to skip over sections so as not to spoil things, everything mentioned is cross-referenced with page numbers. Best side effect: my 6-year old has turned into a voracious reader thanks to this. The walkthrough presents version differences side by side, in an easily understandable manner. -Advanced Trainer Handbook (170+ pages) in three parts: 1. The Road to become a champion (everything from building a team, training your team, stats, weather, terrain, moves etc.), and Battle Practice (all about Champion Tournaments after you have become the Champion) 2. Completing your Pokédex, Pokémon eggs, Pokémon Jobs, etc. 3. The Wild Area and Pokémon Camp (with a Curry Dex! - my kids have become obsessed with cooking curries for their Pokémon!) There are also sections on online gameplay and Y-Comm, and all about customization of the game, backgrounds, your character, league cards... shops and prices of items... -Adventure Data (50+ pages) Every stat and notes on every move, G-Max move, every TM including where to get it, etc. every ability, and even a list of stats regarding the nature of your Pokémon (shy? jolly? sassy? timid?....) and which curry it will hence dislike (!) and other personality characteristics, last but not least a detailed list, description and "where to get it" for the ~30 different medicines, 40+ berry types... treasures etc. in the game. Every single item is neatly explained, no matter how small. A list of all shops and their fare is also there. Parents: No worries, there is no real life money spent here! Notes: The book is copyrighted December 2019, and thus does not talk about the Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra Expansion passes or their content. The entire book is in full color, and uses color to make things easy to find and understand. Summary; 10/10, highly recommend. I got one for each kid. Great price, top notch gaming content, quality, and presentation.
