EZ Botanicals - Carnivorous Plant Soil - Organic (1 Quart)

2 months in and my little carnivore is doing quite well. I read what i could find on how to do this. i decided to start by baking the mix to kill anything, 195°f for 30 minutes. then i hydrated the mix in a pitcher just covered with water for 6+ hours. it will become water logged but it definitely needs time. then i dumped the mix into a colander to drain and dry overnight and replanted the next morning. the plant had come from a store with soil. i haven’t replanted a plant before so i left the plant in the packaging mix and and put the whole thing in the new soil. it’s been growing really well. it started growing a flower and stem which i thought was weird because i’ve read they flower in spring (it’s 8/18/19). anyway it’s starting to regrow several traps that are nice and red in the middle. there is a little more work involved here than replanting your office ivy, but it’s rewarding!

Perfect for replanting my two Venus Fly Trap plants. For the people complaining that the soil was dry and dosen't retain the water; if you read the instructions you need to SOAK the soil for 6 hours. I added distilled water to it and let it soak overnight. Came out perfect.

My Venus fly trap perked right up after I re-potted it in this “soil.” I did wet the mixture & let it all soak in for about 6 hours prior to repotting. It’s super happy now!

This was exactly the right amount. Soaked in distilled water for 6 hours, drained overnight in a colander, and my venus fly traps and Sarracenias are loving the new soil!

My venus fly trap is still alive after transplanting! So it seems to work!
