It has a nice weight to it, and it feels like it is built like a little tank💪🏻 I Love all the benefits offered with these things: it comes with an app called “Toolkit” or something that automatically unlocks it when I connect it to my Mac! I love all of the Seagate protection offered if I need them to recover any lost data off of my drive. It came with a free subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud (VERY EPOCH AND HELPFUL BONUS).Also, it appears that the CIA trusts this (I’ve seen video of a former CIA operative using one of these)! It is VERY secure! I actually partitioned mine to have abt 180gb’s dedicated to the MIRROR file with Seagate. The MIRROR option keeps a folder on my Mac; and, when I change things in that folder, it updates the mirrored folder on my drive automatically when I plug it back in.The remaining storage I partioned for TimeMachine on my Mac... So, I (effectively) have 2 drives on my Mac. Therefore, I automatically keep my primary files continuously updated and etc. on MIRROR while I keep everything backed up in the TimeMachine Partition.... It has def come in handy.If you end up doing something like that, though, you need to remember to eject the drive on the the Toolkit app, first... Then, maybe, eject the drives off of your desktop (force eject [if necessary]), then open the “Disk Utility” app. Once you do that, eject the “Lacie (whatever)...” drive there... Then, feel free to unplug once the light is off on your drive.And, yeah, it’s def MUCH FASTER than any HDD! I, personally, LOVE SSD! Very solid and silent design. Zero moving parts👍🏻 I love it. Thank God for this awesome product

For both external drives and these compact SSD, LaCie's been my goto for many years. Few $'s more? Worth it.

Due to losing seven years of data on a hard disk, my computer expert recommended this product. It is easy to use, portable, and fast. I have all my graphic and art files stored here and will be purchasing more solid state drives to store personal and financial data.

Quality comes at a price and here it is. I edited a series of short films and used it as my editing drive. It was fast, reliable and stable. My only criticism would be to include a longer USB-C cable ( current one is about 3inches).So yes, it is pricey, but in this case, you buy peace of mind.BONUS: it comes with a free month of Adobe subscription.

I use this device to back up my computer files and programs. I had previously been using the cloud to back up everything, and I was told that Apple could not take responsibility if something went wrong. This LaCie device has a 5 year warranty that protects my data. It also has a claim of 3m drop protection. It took about 2.5 hours to backup everything the first time, but I don't even notice this device working in the background thereafter. I hope that this external hard drive will last for many years to come.

So I wanted to have an external drive that could last me years and be big enough to push over any video that hogs up a lot of space on my 128GB laptop. Its been great. That's about all I can tell you. I have had it now for about 9 months and wanted to wait a bit to give a review. Best of luck.
