Great description about the life of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
I would definitely recommend this book as it gave a good rundown of the life of the prophet (pbuh). Some more advanced topics the author didn’t get in to but if you want a solid understanding of the life of the prophet (pbuh) and lessons from his life, this book is for you!

Must Read for Muslims and Non-Muslims
In a society and age where there is much confusion about Prophet Muhammad and Islam in the minds of both Muslims and non-Muslims, this book couldn't have been written at a better time. In the Footsteps of the Prophet pushes you to become a better person, motivated by the exemplary nature of the Prophet as a youth, father, grandfather, husband, employee, religious and political leader, and moreso simply a human being. Beyond that, it sheds light on so many common misconceptions. It does nothing short of bringing clarity to the true essence and character of the Prophet, teaching life lessons to all.Tariq Ramadan clarifies in his introduction that this book is not intended to depict the events of the life of the prophet, rather to bring to the forefront certain aspects of his life and relate it to our own lives, situations and circumstances today. The book does just that. I bought the book a few years ago, but have read it every year since then to remind me of life lessons such as being patiently perseverant in troublesome times, handling situations with wisdom and foresight of the future rather than jumping to the passions of my ego in the near term, seeing potential for goodness in every single human being no matter how evil they may seem, treating others with respect and kindness regardless of religion or any worldly classifications, living life with integrity and honesty, and simply just being my best in every single aspect of life and in every role.

Beautiful Rendition
I found this book a moving and intimate account of the prophet's life. Not just a chronological narration of events, but an attempt to bring to life his inner inquiry, challenges, and his character. It combines historical milestones that educate us about the rise and spread of Islam and an engaging story about the main influences on the prophet. The book also, and perhaps somewhat uniquely, conveys a living transmission of the spiritual attributes that the prophet is said to have embodied/ sought to impart, that can help the reader turn the lens of spiritual inquiry on themselves, with gentleness, and the kind of authenticity that we allow ourselves in the privacy of our own thoughtful contemplation. The book illustrates the ethical codes by which the prophet lived, and which he taught, and the respect for and necessity of intellectual inquiry. It is an important touchstone for Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, who would like to learn about the founder of Islam.

wonderful account of the prophet's life.
As a fairly recent convert, I have learned bits and pieces about the prophet, peace be upon him, for years. But this book was the first time all the pieces were put together. I felt like I really got to know the prophet and his first companions. It put into context the pillars of Islam and many traditions Muslims follow. While the book stayed in the era of the prophet, the stories and revelations translate so well to our world today. Beautifully written, I felt like I was reading a poem about God and his prophet, and what better poem could there be?Any Muslim should read this book and feel close to the prophet, whether for the first time or rekindling the knowledge you gained in years past.Non Muslims should also read this book to understand why billions of people follow Islam and love and respect the prophet, peace be upon him, so much. There is so much misinformation out there by people afraid of Islam... Learn about it from someone who is worthy of speaking about it.God bless Mr Ramadan for this beautiful work!

Unique examination on God's final prophet sent to all of mankind
Definitely a unique and interesting way to narrate the Seerah (biography) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Dr Tariq Ramadan is a fantastic writer and the book is a very easy read; once you begin reading, it's hard to put the book down until you finish. Not exactly the most in-depth classical Seerah, but he draws conclusions and talks about reflections in regards to the different events and stages during the Prophet's life. For somebody looking for a more extensive Seerah on the prophet, check out "The Sealed Nectar". Definitely a good read for non-Muslim readers as well it gives you a more appropriate perspective on the type of man the Prophet Muhammad was, as opposed to classical sources which read more like college textbooks. We really learn a lot about the values, ethics, morality, and challenges that he faced on his road to prophethood, revelation, and mission. 4/5 stars for me personally.

Excellent
I have read this twice and will probably read it again. Every time I gain more information from the excellent analysis and thoughtful commentary. It is very difficult for any one to read the Qu’ran without understanding the life of our Profit (P&BbUH). I suggest people read other biographies of our Profit (P&BbUH) to gain a fuller understanding.

Amazing experience!
If you have never read the seerah of the prophet and are intending to read one to understand what kind of a person he was, this is the book for you. If you have read other seerahs' then you will really appreciate the style of this book due to its beautiful descriptions, essential and analytical notes and comments articulated through the most poetic flow of words, and last but not least; the inevitable feeling and realizations within yourself that this book brings to the table. I thought I knew the prophet by now. I knew I loved, respected and followed him. But this book reaches beyond those feelings and thoughts as mere aspirations and simple efforts. It made me weep, smile and feel his struggles and psycological battles. Tariq ramadan has by no means rejected or ignored any fact nor has he fabricated any scenarios, but it is most clear that the author has put his heart and soul into this book and wrote out of love about his love. I could feel every word. For sure my fav so far. So what are you waiting for?
