Fun facts, cool photos - great intro to cheetahs for kids
My 4yo is obsessed with cheetahs. I bought this to help answer all of her questions: "how fast are cheetahs?" "why are they fast?" "why do cheetahs have spots?" etc etc. It's a small, slim book of cheetah facts and photos. Not a story if that's what you're looking for, but great for kids who want to learn more about a favorite animal.

A Fun and Educational Book for Kids!
National Geographic Kids books are great. The illustrations and photographs are amazing and the information they provide is set up in a way that keeps your children engaged and interested. They have small paragraphs and pop out boxes of facts over beautiful photographs and illustrations, instead of just a boring block of text. My girls love them and we have amassed quite a collection. This particular book is about Cheetahs. They talk about many things including the differences between cheetahs and other wild cats, their speed, where they live, baby cheetah cubs, and even how to protect them from extinction. My 6 year old loves learning the facts and reading the books while my 3 year old loves the pictures, especially the baby pictures. My 6 year old has been really interested in these types of educational books lately and has been asking for more, which we are happy to encourage. We have purchased many of the National Geographic Kids books for our collection and they are a big hit in our house. There are so many different books with various subjects that will appeal to any kid. These are highly recommended. If you haven't already, do your kids a favor and start their collection today.

Wonderful book with great pictures
My niece needed to do a report for school about Cheetahs so we ordered this book for her so that she could find out more information about them. The pictures are wonderful, she especially loves the one with the little cheetah cubs, and the information was easy for her to understand (She is in kindergarten). There is plenty of information in the book to help her finish her report and she is going to take the book to share with her class. Her older sister (8) read the book to her and enjoyed it also. She was able to read most of the book by herself with us helping with a couple of the words she had not seen before such as coalition (the book does give a pronunciation guide for this word as well as a few others, which is great). And they both loved the Cheetah joke about where does the Cheetah have the most spots. You will have to read the book to find the answer . They loved trying to make all the Cheetah sounds and were surprised to find out that Cheetahs chirp. (I didn’t know this either). This is the first National Geographic book that we have purchased for them but we will be buying others in the future. The only compliant that I have is now they both want a baby Cheetah for a pet.

Great series, even for toddlers!
My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

Great book at a great price
Great book at a great price! My 5 year old son who loves animals in general and cheetahs specifically was thrilled to get it and has now read it to any family member or friend that he can find. Good reading level for children just getting confident with reading more than the most basic words and sentences. The book itself is very well done, with lots of great pictures and content. My boys really enjoyed the jokes including on several pages. The formatting is very graphically interesting, but not overdone and confusing like some other books.

Lots of info., great for kids
My daughter loves cheetahs and this book didn't disappoint! She learned a lot - I even learned a few things. Good content and photos. Magazine quality, similar to the other national geographic kids books.

Liked the book very much
Liked the book very much; packed with an engaging variety of well presented facts, although a little overpriced compared to some book sellers. Suitable for independent readers from around six years of age. My granddaughter will love it.
