Great dishwasher
Love this. Had a Bosch before and loved it. Everywhere we looked it was a 6 month wait for one. Kinda leary of buying online but the dishwasher was great. Arrived great. They used AM trucking to deliver. They were great.

Terrible noxious odor from new machine, not improving
I purchased this dishwasher through Best Buy due to the great reviews from Consumer Reports. First the good news: It's extremely quiet and I love the design inside with a 3rd rack. The automatic and normal cycles are very long (2.5 hours or more), but there are shorter cycles available which use more energy and water. I have no idea how well it cleans because, so far, I have been afraid to put dishes in it because it is producing a very strong, very toxic-smelling odor that smells like a combination of tar and pesticides. The unit had no odor until we ran it. It produces this toxic smell in a minor way while it is washing, but then during the drying cycle it fills up the entire kitchen. I looked online and apparently this is a problem with Bosch and some other dishwashers as per multiple posts I found. Some attribute the odor to the bitumen in the insulation (a carcinogenic compound), but it's not entirely clear to me whether this is the cause. I spoke to Bosch the day after I bought the machine and customer service acknowledged the problem. She suggested running it with dishwasher cleaner (and even sent me some!) and with a bowl of white vinegar inside and said it should improve). We did this over 20 times --there is some improvement in room air while it is running, but the inside of the dishwasher still smells like a hazardous waste dump. I have been afraid to place my dishes in the machine because I'm worried chemical residue will remain on the dishes and get into my food. It is unpleasant enough I don't want to be in the kitchen when it is running (which is for hours) and I’m concerned that this could be a health hazard for my family.I called Bosch back, but the supervisor said this is the first she's heard about an odor problem (?!), and then later stated there is a new machine odor that “should dissipate “over time”. I was not permitted to speak to anyone with technical knowledge of their products. Best Buy's customer review site showed someone who said to smell was not going away for long periods, and in blogs I have seen reports the odor remains for months and someone who said they've had it a year with continued smell. I've only had the dishwasher for about 2 weeks, so will continue to run empty loads, but I'm not sure what to do. I read that some other dishwasher brands have a similar problem.

Dishes are not clean
I don't understand why Bosch washer is highly rated online. It's quiet but dishes/cups are far less clean as compares to my 12 years old washer. Very disappointed.Pros:- Very quiet. You can't tell it is working.Cons:- Dishes are not clean either with the short or normal cycle. I am using the same brand of dishwasher detergent.- Overrated, over priced.
