Benjamin Dilley's Thirsty Camel

I was delighted to see this book back in print, as it had become the Holy Grail of my childhood favorites. Benjamin Dilley is a young boy whose imagination can't be contained, even if the adults around him can't see what he does. A wonderful tale of imagination that reads like a contemporary book even though it's forty-five years old. With his whimsical stories that appeal to all ages and singular, spot-colored illustration style, Jolly Roger Bradfield deserves to stand with the greats. Props to Purple House publishing for bringing this underrated author's work back into print!

When my husband and I were asked to read to 2nd graders at a local public school, I immediately thought of this well-loved book from our son's childhood. We had lost track of his copy so I was delighted to find it on Amazon. It is so much fun for young children...and adults! The charming story as well as the wonderful illustrations are a real treat for little ones and grownups alike....so much so that we were invited for a return visit, specifically to read Benjamin Dilley's Thirsty Camel, again! Look forward to trying more of Mr. Bradfield's books.

This book arrived in immaculate shape and was thoroughly enjoyed by all the family members who read it. Jolly Roger Bradfield has quite an imagination and must have had quite a childhood. The illustrations are hysterical and whimsical. This book is highly rated in my view since I am a kid at heart. Hoping to pass it on to future grandkids. Buy it-you will enjoy it!!!!

One of my favorites when I was little! The binding were after many many years. Ordered another copy for my kids.

Love this author. Bought this for Christmas for my boys and they ask me to reread it every night. We have all of this author's books. They're all excellent. So different. Love his creativity.

Another great one from Jolly ROger books

Loved this book when my kids were growing up. It will go to my greats when they come along. It's very imaginative and humorous!
