Good for Impala 2008 LT
Fits and works nice on my impala 2008 LT. It is hard to deal with the hoses and you’d need to drain the coolant so make sure you watch the how to videos and have a friend to help battle the hose. I replaced mine bc my coolant cap shattered and clogged the thermostat and it was stuck shut so no coolant was entering and the engine got hot.

No gasket needed.
I installed this thermostat on a 2006 Chevy Malibu SS with the 3.9 l. I think this thermostat also works on the 3.5 l. The thermostat is in a terrible spot, but I was replacing the water pump and it's always a good idea to replace your thermostat at the same time. It doesn't require a gasket, the rubber ring you see around it is what does the sealing. Now this is going to vary between vehicle to vehicle. So yours may take a gasket where this one did not. But after installing the water pump and the thermostat the car does run just a little bit cooler. So far working just like it should.

(it was too loose to shove into the enclosure) Seems to be working fine however.
The rubber seal around the perimeter is very hard to get into the manifold but once in, you know its secure. (it was too loose to shove into the enclosure) Seems to be working fine however.
