The only USB to serial converter I use...
For all levels of IT work, this adapter is all we use in-house for testing serial comms/Putty/Moxa etc, to Cisco network hardware configs and works on all our laptops and desktop, with latest Win 10 Enterprise. Highly recommended.One cable to keep in your laptop bag (with the obligatory blue Cisco serial to RJ45 cable too). Now have our offshore & survey support teams using it - cheaper than buying Toughbook laptops with 9pin serial ports!!

Works with Win8.1, Win 10, Linux and Cisco kit
This adapter is based on the Prolific PL2303 RA chipset - this is advertised as Win8.1, Win 10 and Linux compatible.The item arrived very quickly and looked exactly as the picture on this product page.When I first bought this adaper, I plugged it into my Win8.1 laptop and it was discovered straight away. It was assigned COM3: and it did not have a "!" or "?" in the Device Manager view. Since then I have upgraded to Win 10 and I can report that it just worked, with Win 10 installing the same latest driver as can be found on the Prolific website. Additionally, this cable has just worked without any fuss on every Ubuntu Linux build I have tried it in.Using PuTTY I have been able to connect to my Cisco ASA, routers, switches and Netscreen/Juniper firewalls witout any problems.[Edit: Updated 2016 to correct the Prolific chipset identfication, and add Win 10 & Linux compatibility observations.]

can only recommend this.
Only used with Windows 10 so far. No drivers had to be downloaded/updated. Attached to a FAZ-2k, set up Putty to use the COM port defined in the device manager and worked as expected right away. Setup didn't take more than 10 seconds from the time I took out from the bag. With a usual serial converter to RJ-45 (Cisco cable) worked perfectly as well on a couple of Fortigates. No issues, can only recommend this.

Works fine at 115
Purchased this to use as a serial console on a FreeBSD server that has no serial ports of its own. Works fine at 115,200 baud.
