Ancient Egyptian Mysteries Debunked
Although the title of this book could equally apply to a horror novel, its contents are much more historical than hysterical. The author has chosen ten of the most popular mysteries that are associated with ancient Egypt and has analyzed and debunked them in light of archaeological and historical facts. The chapters can be read in any order since each one focuses on one topic and is not dependent on information from the others. The writing style is clear, friendly, authoritative and widely accessible. I found some chapters to be more engaging than others, depending on the topic and my interest in it. The meticulous details, descriptions and analyses that the book contains confirm that the author is a professional in this field. As a result, a reader who is attracted mainly to the book's title my feel disappointed at the lack of horrifying and mystifying passages. Nevertheless, anyone who reads this book will learn much that is absolutely fascinating about ancient Egypt, as viewed through modern professional eyes.

I'm not an Egyptologist, but I do know that ...
I'm not an Egyptologist, but I do know that the pyramid map of the Giza plateau at the beginning of the first chapter are incorrectly named. I put that down to error. Then when I read that the author stated the Sphinx was at the end of Khufu's causeway I stopped reading it.
