S13 Women's Luxe Eskimo Midlength Down Parka with Faux Fur Hood

After reading reviews and trying on an S13 parka in a different style in Saks, I ordered up, way up. I am 5'4", 147 lbs and 60 y.o. I am normally a size 8 in top and a size 8 or 10 in a bottom - typically a Medium. I ordered this in a Large and an XL and am keeping the XL. I believe this is Junior sized. The large was tight in the arms not allowing me to bend my elbows. I don't have cafeteria lady arms, but they're not as slim as they once were either. The XL fits much better in the arms and fits well overall tho the finger cut-outs run a tad long and the hood is a bit too much. When the hood is up, you can barely see my eyes and mouth. The coat is made well with a nice easy zipper and easy elastic loop buttons. There are interior tabs to cinch in to custom fit your waist. The lining is rabbit fur which makes this coat so very warm and cozy. The fur does not run inside the sleeves allowing room for a sweater. Great, cool parka.

First: I got this for $39 because I bought a Medium. The price jumps "bigly" if you go up in sizes, which seems to be due to reviews that state the jacket runs small. It does. I've been wearing bulky down coats for more years than I care to state, and I've had them from every major manufacturer and some off-brands. No matter what your weight, you don't want to bring attention to a down coat. You want a down coat to flatter your figure whether you're a size 6 or a size 20. (Less than two weeks ago, I returned and reviewed another down coat I bought here on Amazon because the cut is seriously like for a Matrushka doll--those Russian nesting dolls whose hips swerve way way WAY far from the waist.) So for that reason, my personal rule for down coats is the more snug, the better. With this masterpiece of a jacket-- Well, I've attached photos showing how the hood closes literally three ways: 1) button; 2) snap; 3) zipper almost up to your nose. The pockets are great and in unusual places. The lining is a very heavy fake fur. This coat has got to be the heaviest non-suede garment (which I gave up when I became vegetarian!) I ever lifted. It is H-E-A-V-Y. Anyhow, I'm just over the moon with the quality and the unbelievable price I paid. Yes, the off-price is restricted to black, but frankly, the black only makes me look thinner, and that's no problem for me. Everyone has her own definition of beauty; this coat definitely is mine.

Love, love, love this jacket! I would suggest going a size up unless you want it fitted because I sent it back the first time because I just wanted a little room in case I wanted to wear a heavy sweater under it. It’s extremely warm and it looks fantastic. Super soft on the inside. I truly just think its perfect. I’m 5’4 and weigh 165. I normally wear large top some mediums if they run a little big. Again love this jacket.

I love this coat. It’s warm and comfortable. I get cold easily. The shoulder area is smaller than i would like but it’s warm enough to not need a sweat shirt underneath. And when both my cousin and i (same brand, same issue) wear the material that goes around your hands the sleeve feels a little short.

I absolutely love this jacket! It is so warm and all of the details make it look amazing. The main zipper is a little tricky because of the placement but overall I love it!

Wow, this coat exceeded my expectations!! I normally wear a large but sized up to an xtra large. I definitely recommend sizing up for this coat. The inside feels amazing! I receive so many compliments when I wear it. The quality is way over the price of the coat. 5 stars! 😊
