The Complete Photo Guide to Framing and Displaying Artwork: 500 Full-Color How-to Photos

Just Excellent
While the author of this work sadly passed away a few years ago, the book is not in the least outdated and is as clear and as comprehensive as one could possibly wish. There are large color photos on virtually every page. If you have the least bit of interest in DIY framing (or even professional framing, though no claim for that is made by the author), then this book is for you.

Framing & Displaying Artwork
Quite a comprehensive introduction to framing that goes on to cover more complex and challenging aspects of framing paintings on fabric to 3D objects. Equipment required for creating mat cutouts for you pictures is well covered and explained pretty well. I don't know if you could call this the definitive framing publication, but it's a pretty good starter for beginners, such as myself, and should enthuse you to delve deeper into the creation of your own frames. I think that the chapter on frame styles for various artworks is important, though perhaps a bit light, as it's an important consideration when you're trying to determine the look of your artwork as some frames just don't look right for certain images. Overall it's a very good and quite readable book and I'd thoroughly recommend it. Given a bit more technical detail I'd have given this 5 stars and my rating of 4 stars should be read as 4+.

Nuts and bolts book!
I joined a local art gallery recently and found that if I sent my photos to be framed I might as well just give the products away. A friend gave me a brief framing tutorial in her home and I walked away with still more questions. Then I found this book on Amazon. This is a COMPLETE guide for matting and framing artwork for presentation. I would call it a "must have" for anyone who can't afford to have their work sent out for framing and has questions about "how to"!

I'd consider reviewing the book if I could get Amazon to straighten out delivery of Kindle books to my iPads
I had been in the habit of reading Kindle books on the Kindle app on my iPad and iPad Mini. However, at some point in its Infinite Monopolist way of doing things, Amazon decided that my iPads are no longer registered, and it will only deliver Kindle books to my Kindle Cloud. Which I cannot seem to access from an iPad. I've poured over the customer support pages, and can't seem to fix the problem. And I've lost a library of e books -- most of which I paid for. Other than buying a Kindle (which is probably what Amazon is trying to get me to do), about all I can do is stick with hard copy books & e books in other formats. If Amazon is (as it claims) just a benign friendly giant, dedicated to protect consumers from mean old publishers, ya could'a fooled me. I'm with Stephen King & Hachette: buy books somewhere else.

Muy recomendado.
Se enfoca en los inicios del enmarcado para la propia casa. Yo estaba buscando información más para el negocio del enmarcado.

good reference for beginner to intermediately experienced framer.
this is a good introductory book into picture framing. It's not fancy or hyper technical, but it gives a very good overview and a good source listing for supplies and how to use them. I would not recommend it as a reference to an expert framer, but from novice to intermediately experienced framers, this is a good intro and reference.

Useful introduction to framing
This is a well-written introduction to framing with enough detail to allow a novice to get started. The lists of sources for tools and materials is extremely helpful. This is my first Kindle book purchase and, with a few caveats, my experience with it has been positive.

Detailed and informative with colour photographs
For anyone interested in framing or mount cutting then this book is brilliant. Covers virtually all aspects of the subject from start to finish with detailed instructions and colour photographs. Lots of tips and pointers that help the novice improve their work. All in all a very useful addition to the bookshelf and an essential reference book on the subject. Recommended reading.

Great Book for Those New to Framing
I'm an ammeter photographer who is starting to break into semi-pro. When I started getting serious inquiries about prints of my work I had to learn about matting and framing. Even though I may not do my own framing, this book has given me a complete understanding of all of the terminology and many fantastic ideas on how to present my photographs. It's a fantastic read and well worth it for anyone who is new to framing.

One of the better books on framing
This book contains lots of useful suggestions and is very well laid out and nicely presentedHowever I would caution that as the third book I have on the subject, each seems to suggest different methods and focus on a different type of framingThis is very much about fancy home projects. The displaying artwork section makes it worth buying
