ΓwΓ±ers Manual for Kindle Fire
zBRead this, really before realizing that my Kindle version was NOT like the "Fire" version. Think it will help me a lot when the FIRE version is installed.

Just Okay
The book was not as in-depth as I was expecting. It was decent but I had some problems and questions that I felt should have been answered in the book but were not. I think it is more geared to a beginner, which is fine. I found my answers on the internet where I probably should have looked first. It would also have been nice to have an email address to send help questions to. It may also have helped the author know what was missing in his book that he could address if he ever updated this one.

A must have for new kindle users
I've never had a kindle before, so I needed something to teach me how to use it. This book is very helpful. HOWEVERI still haven't figured out how to do some things. FOR EXAMPLE (if this book has an index) I don't know how to use it yet. I am wading through one page at a time and learning or skipping as the case may be. I would have liked to know FIRST how to move from page to page on a Kindle or how to go from a footnote back to where I was reading. I guess I'll get to those informational points, but knowing how to use the kindle to read or jump around using a Kindle book's index, would have been my first chapter in any book about Kindle for beginners. Then all the other chapters would be more easy to find by topic rather than going from page to page looking for what I needed.Otherwise this book would have rated five stars.

I bought a Kindle Fire from Amazon. Knowing nothing ...
I bought a Kindle Fire from Amazon. Knowing nothing about this device, I expected some instructions but none came with it. I had to learn by trial and error what I finally know about the Kindle Fire. For instance, how to turn it on. I didn't realize I'd need to press the "on" button and hold it for several seconds. I had to research this to find out. I would have returned the device simply because it was too foreign for me without instructions but it was too difficult to package it back up. After reading this manual and another that I bought on Amazon, I have learned how to read my books. I don't remember if it was this book or the other on that showed me the most and I am too irritated about the whole experience to research that. My granddaughter came and started using it and she was so excited and loves it. She does so many things that I did not know could be done. Why on earth do instructions not come with the Amazon Kindle Fire???

Thought I knew most of the Fire's qualities
Not even close! This manual is well organized, a very easy read & covers a lot of ground in a short time. Steve Weber does a deep dive into the Fire & readers will benefit from having read it. GREAT job, Steve!

No section on troubleshooting
I have had my kindle for several years so I am aware of most of the content in this book, however I did pick up a couple of new pointers.I was looking for a manual to find a trouble shooting section; I was having problems with my Kindle locking up and returning to home screen randomly. I did not find anything to help me in this book.I would recommend this book for anyone new to Kindle.

As a beginner to tablets and smart phones, I needed something to learn how to ...
I can't give this 5 stars simply because I haven't read a lot of it, and because I haven't gotten my tablet yet. As a beginner to tablets and smart phones, I needed something to learn how to do pretty much everything on a tablet. So far, it seems that this book explains things clearly and I'm sure I will be using it a lot more when I get my tablet. (I ordered the Kindle Fire in stock on July 23, 2015.) Hopefully this book (that was written for an earlier version of Kindle) will tell me everything I need to know. I will update my review after I have had a chance to use it with my new tablet.

NOT EVEN WITH A BARGEPOLE
If you live in UK, and have just bought a Kindle Fire 7 then look elsewhere for instructions. This book is about older models in the USA. It is not fit for purpose here.Already gone to dumpster within one day of receiving itUnless I can find a decent and current UK manual shall probably dump the Kindle too. If Amazon are too mean to include to include even a quick start guide then I shall write my Β£50 off as the most expensive waste of my loot this year.DISASTER!

A very useful guide. However
A very useful guide. However, although it gives clear instructions on how one may "lend" a book to another Kindle user for fourteen days, when I tried to do this I was informed that this facility is not available in the UK, only in the USA. Which begs the question, why are Amazon making it available to UK customers? I think this is seriously dishonest promotional material - possibly illegal? - and a clear breach of customer trust. I am therefore extremely disappointed and will be more than surprised if Amazon actually publish this review, which shows them up in the poorest of lights.

Outdated
This manual was outdated when I was persuaded - by Amazon technical support! - to buy it, because the "help" supplied with the Fire is so inadequate. That's not to suggest that Amazon isn't following common practice for almost all modern "devices", whose "guides" just leave one to work out how they work!

I like it.
At 75 I am of course, a touch nervous with new, (to me), technology. Having read the supplier 's user-information I could see there was a lot more to learn about the Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire Owner's Manual by Steve Weber was the answer to my needs. Warning however, Amazon updates conditions and provisions etcetera. For instance - your 'Prime' payment currently will be taken automatically after the initial free month if you don't opt out...not what the book advises. Be wary..otherwise an excellent purchase.

Usefull
The book gives a good overview of the functions and uses of the product, however all the links for library lending and similar are all for USA and of no use in UK
