GREAT for audiophile console gamers.
I’m a bit of a headphone collector and have many high-fidelity wired headphones that I use mostly for music but have always wanted to use them more for gaming. Running a wired headphone setup from the current generation consoles is a bit of a mess in terms of compatibility and effort involved. This little bad boy changes that. The biggest hurdle for plugging high end wired headphones directly into controllers is they often they just don’t have enough power to drive them. I was skeptical of a $20 device being able to drive something like the Sennheiser HD660S2, HD800 or a planar headphone like the Final Audio D8000 Pro - but I can confirm this thing does just that. The high gain even half way handles them well, and there was no noticeable distortion to my ear.I haven’t had it long enough to talk longevity, but everything works as advertised, and all of the mentioned accessories were included. Build quality / appearance seems better than good enough for a $20 device. Honestly even if I had to buy one of these every year it would be worth it.

Lots of Additional Volume
Works well with my iPad. A good strategy is to turn up the volume on the source and then use the amp to increase as needed. In other words, turn up the volume on the amp as little as necessary, otherwise the sound quality decreases.

Professional quality, home price, excellent sound quality, ease of use
I exercise which watching video on an ipad with headphones. Given the combination of the max volume of an ipad and a set of headphones with a very long cord, my sound level was difficult to hear over the exercise machine noise. With this USB chargeable headphone amplifier in the line between the headphones and the ipad, I can get excellent sound well over the surrounding background noise with level to spare. This product comes in a strong metal case not some cheap plastic garbage. Its on/off/volume knob is also metal, as I said well designed and built. In all the time I’ve had it I’ve only had to recharge it twice as its seems to have great battery life. It comes with a short approx 4 inch cord to go from the amplifier to the source and has as its output a 1/8 in standard jack. It also comes with a charging cord to mate with the amplifier and a USB end to plug into any standard USB wall charger. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m betting I can also use it on my professional audio portable wireless headsets for use during my professional video productions as sometimes it gets noisy backstage for our crew members and the audio sets could use some extra boost. Because these are so small they can fit in a cameraman’s shirt pocket or real pants pocket and given its metal sitting on it or dropping it wont smash like cheaper plastic products.

This amp is fragile.
I had this for my PS4 controller, since the audio is poor when you connect it to non prebuilt amp headsets. So far it was working fine and I set the gain switch to Hi. So I can get the most audio out of this amplifier. And literally 2hrs of getting this, it dropped from the table it was set on at a low height. And it landed on the switch, and basically the switch instantly broke. Now I can’t use it to increase the gain or reduce it. Luckily I set it to High before the switch fell off. It shouldn’t break from one small drop, this thing is way too overpriced to be this fragile.Like how do you have metal covering the box and not at least invest anything decently strong on the switches? Clearly they skimped in the manufacturing on this.I looked inside the amplifier, and all I saw holding this plastic gain switch was a super thin piece of tin or aluminum of some kind? And super thin slice of plastic that was connected to this. This thing is so weak.I read made in China and should’ve trusted my gut before buying this thing. Don’t buy it if you know the risk of it breaking from one fall.Oh yeah, I’m not even joking a day in after using this. The headphone Jack wire that they give you in this product stopped working. So not only the switches suck, so does the wire wtf? This is the worse item ive ever bought, now I have to get a new amplifier with good switches and have to make sure to get separate strong jack cables that won’t break on me in a day.

NICE LITTLE PRODUCT!
When the headphone jack on my computer went bad, I bought a USB-to-analogue headphone amp which took not only the sound signal but its power from a single USB output. It produced high-quality sound, but not nearly as much volume as needed for my great, old Bose QC-15. Therefore, I made the additional mild investment in this MyPin rechargeable, higher-output analogue headphone amp (preamp, really) to add to the USB model. It gave a big boost in volume without sacrificing sound quality. No frills, just great sound. // Incidentally, it also can be used as a direct electric guitar amp when adapted to fit the larger output from the guitar. However, not being specifically designed for this purpose, it tends to be a bit soft, and it plays through only on one side, not centered. Still, it may be usable as needed for guitar practice which will not disturb others.

Meh
It does amplify sound but I often get a bunch of loud cracks in the audio when using I got it just as a gag to see if it even worked, it works sometimes
