Another great book by Terry John Woods
I have all Terry John Woods books and a handmade Teddy Bear created by him as only he can do. I am a follower of his work and find his style refreshing without being over the top as far as trying to stay in the style of the moment. He has a clean line which includes using items from the past while keeping a sparser style which is what I enjoy.

Farmhouse Modern
Similar to Terry John Woods other books. Beautiful photos and compositions. A pop of color in an otherwise white or neutral room. Modern but with beautiful painted antiques sharing the space. I enjoyed the sparseness of the space with one or two beautiful painted pieces pulling in the eye. Something a little unique. Author did a wonderful job with this as with his other books.

Nice photos. Good design sense.
Somewhere between 3 - 4 stars. It appeared to be one house and one esthetic used over and over. Not a lot of layers of design and thought here. I felt it got too precious and a little silly, but if you peruse it with your own sensibility in mind, you will be able to pick up some fresh perspective. And of course, I am an amateur with only personal opinion here...I definitely enjoyed looking at this book, but not likely to return to it again and again

Love it!!
Being a fan of the neutrals, and loving TJW's usual design with neutrals, I was surprised by the amount of color, but it was interesting and there were many other photos with his more typical color palette. Being such a fan of his though, any of his books I would buy and love. Love his dogs too.

Completely Disappointed!
Wish I would've read some of the reviews first. Yes, it's a substantial, coffee table style book but that's about all I can say for it. The photographs are all so tightly shot that it's hard to get a feel for the overall look and the author does very little to educate the reader on farmhouse design. Instead it's really an exercise in photographing (mostly) his own home and saying "Look at this. Look at that." If you like peeking into other people's homes and you're looking for a book heavy, heavy on photos, this could be for you. Also, you'd need to be a fan of non-traditional farmhouse style. But if, like me, you're looking to be educated on current farmhouse design trends, keep shopping. This will end up in my next garage sale.

Magnificent focus on the old and new.
A beautifully photographed book with a fresh look at rustic living. An elegant slant on comfort and simplicity drawing the eye to the vintage, antique and art of a home. An inspiring look that "country living," always has a place in decor.Thank you for your wonderful books, Mr. Woods!

Very Disappointing
I was hoping for a lot of new ideas for decorating with tips, and shots of finished rooms. Instead, there are only close ups of vignettes, and mostly very similar vignettes, over and over. I had been looking forward to an coffee table book that I could return to over and over for inspiration but instead it's just a lot of the same shots that could easily be found on Pinterest.

I love the photos
It's generally a good book, not great, but just good. I can spare you the purchase by having you go out and purchase 200 yards of white canvas duck and slipcover your furniture, then, take out all other items in your house. Purchase 40 gallons of white paint and paint the whole interior of your house, white: beds, walls floors etc. Then sprinkle your house sparingly with accessories and boy do I mean leave the house bare. A bedroom will consist of a bed and a white dresser. Dress the bed in your white canvas with white sheets. It's basically about minimalism. I love the look but I'm far off from ever recreating anything from this book. It was an impulse buy. I'm glad I have it, but, really it's very institutional: white on white and dots of color.
