Shoji & Kumiko 85 Vintage Designs

DUH! The results of clicking "Look Inside" should have been enough to pass on this one.
Normally, I do not write unfavorable reviews of books. However, I am making an exception for this one. Shoji & Kumiko: 85 Vintage DesignsI am glad I did not buy the printed paperback at $12.95. Even with Kindle Unlimited at $3.99, I feel I got less than the value I had perceived.Clicking the "Look Inside" hot spot is basically a wasted click as far as trying to make an informed decision to purchase is concerned. DUH! That should have been an immediate red flag for me.The book itself contains NOTHING but line drawings similar to the one shown below. The author did not write ANYTHING by way of name, description, or the history of any of the patterns. It appears to me, he merely copied them from something published circa 1930 which presumably makes it public domain. Quite similar to what someone did with his 16,000 woodworking plans. No! I did not buy those, but I did see a copy of them from someone who did.The author, who is also the publisher, expressly allows the publication of one page for review purposes. Here is the pattern I chose to share for my review. Please believe me when I say, "The remaining 84 Vintage Designs are no more impressive."I have nothing further to say about this book other than caveat emptor.

Not recommend
Only pictures without any text. If you want to learn how to make a shoji or an introduction to it, You will be very disappointed

Worst Book Ever!!
Being interested in various kumiko designs, I wasn't bothered with other poor reviews. However, every pictured kumiko pattern was without the pattern's name. This means no further research is possible. Total useless crap!! Rating should be 0 (ZERO)!!!!May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of both the author and publisher!

You learn nothing with this
Reprints from a 1930 Japanese architectural book with no information, no descriptions, no anything except for a number on top of each design. For $18 you get pretty much a Xerox copy of another book. I feel scammed.
