I have been using the Western Digital WD 1TB My Passport Portable Hard Disk Drive for several months now and I am extremely impressed with its performance. As someone who works with large files and needs to constantly back up important data, this hard drive has been a lifesaver. First of all, the design of the hard drive is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around with me wherever I go. The black color gives it a professional and modern look. The USB 3.0 connection ensures fast transfer speeds, which is essential for my work. The storage capacity of 1TB is more than enough for my needs, and I appreciate the fact that I can store a large number of files without worrying about running out of space. The hard drive also comes with password protection and hardware encryption, which adds an extra layer of security to my data. In terms of performance, this hard drive has exceeded my expectations. It is incredibly fast and reliable, and I have not experienced any issues with data loss or corruption. I use it to transfer large files, and it has never failed me.

This is a very very early review. Will definitely update after 6 days, if anything happens and then will try to update subsequently. Now, coming to delivery, I am very pleased as it just arrive in one day. Packaging wise, it was good, both outside and main packaging. After I inserted the HDD, I got around 931 gb of free space, I download the apps and set my password, but could not register the product from the app. The speed initially, as can be seen from above photo, seems really good but let's see for how long it can maintain that speed. But, it has some sound inside, not annoying but upon bringing little closer to ear, you can hear it. Don't know it's normal or not, so have to check it properly. Rest, so far so good. But it's really damn light and very small.

Hey! So many of u may have this doubt that will wd hdd work on ur linux device(i had the same doubt btw)...but yeah to answer that i will say it works just fine. Wd mentions just mac and windows as most of the services they provide like backup, drives nd all r compatible with windows and macs only.Those services will not work on linux, but if ur buying hdd that means u need storage so for that purpose it works fine. Just when u connect ur wd hdd to ur pc don't start backing up ur data straight up remember u need to first format it to fat32 for linux only. By default hdd will be in NTFS which will be detected by ur linux os initially but later ask for format so it's better to format it straight to FAT32 nd then u r good to go.

A well-rounded hard drive with good transfer speeds and decent pricing. I would recommend SSD for video-related work and HDD for backup-related stuff.

File transfer (via usb 3.1 gen 2) speed is between 96-101mbps(Transfering files from wb 1800mbps write, 2700mbps read speed ssd)You can store games in it and plug it to usb and play them in that case i only had 10fps loss compared to my internal ssdThere is a dynamic cache option in wd ssd application for this hard drive not tested that yet.
