I already had the Steiff limited edition Paddington so when this one came out it just had to be done! She is absolutely gorgeous, her clothes well made and the detail is beautiful.

I have been a collector of Paddington Bears for four decades, but never had the opportunity to complete Paddington's heritage with his Aunt Lucy. By chance I found out Steiff had released an Aunt Lucy this autumn and seized the chance to have one. Aunt Lucy's ticket to my home was expensive but I was determined she should come to live with us all. On arrival she was well packaged by Steiff, their own brand box and a cardboard outer which fitted snuggly against the brand box. The Seller had put this package into their own packaging which on arrival at my home was partial torn, but the Stieff boxes were still in tact. My Aunt Lucy Bear is everything I expected from Steiff. As a bear she has jointed arms and legs. She has two eyes and two ears (someone asked once if Paddington Bear had two ears). Her hat complete with hat band and flower are stitched in four places, so no hats falling off. Her gold metal glasses have no lenses so no accidents with lenses falling out. She wears a necklace of toned wooden beads The coat she wears, tones in with the flower on her hat and her necklace. The coat has real buttons and button holes but I would not recommend regular removal of the coat. In case it rains Aunt Lucy carries an umbrella which looks stronger than some everyday ones. This umbrella actually opens up and closes. I am very pleased with my Aunt Lucy, she did cost a lot of money but this is a once in a lifetime purchase and has made my Paddington family very happy. On a sensible note I feel this would be a very expensive toy to give to a small child to play with. A more affordable Aunt Lucy would be a suitable alternative. This Aunt Lucy is more a collectors item.
