Presto82087 pressure cooker and canner gauge.

Don’t be mislead by the different number on the box. I ordered 82087 to fit my Sears canner and got this instead. I had returned my first order because of a review stating it wouldn’t fit. I got the same box again and looked at Presto’s information. This was supposed to fit my model, and it did nicely!Please don’t let a previous review sway your decision, it fit fine and works wonderfully.

Tried using this on a pressure cooker and it would not read a build up of pressure at all. I took it to our county extension office to have it tested, and it measured well outside accepted parameters. Since I am outside the return window I’m just going to throw it away.

I did NOT get what I ordered. I got a "newer" / "replacement" Chinese-made (albeit "Presto" brand) product. I (purposely) ordered the "Presto 82087 pressure cooker and canner gauge" preferentially over the #85771. It was clearly a model #82087 in the Amazon pictures. Instead of the #82087 that I ordered, I received the newer, Chinese-made Presto #85771 Steam Gauge (which "replaces" the #82087). It looks cheaper than the 82087 but seems to function adequately. Also, be aware that the #85771 is threaded 1/8" NPT. It did NOT fit my Presto model # 01CAA20H pressure canner. I had to drill and tap the canner lid for a 1/8" NPT female to 1/4" NPT male adapter. Fortunately, I have a complete machine shop and had the parts and tools on-hand to complete the job, so it was no big deal. It might be more of a challenge for you... I don't know. I don't like getting a "replacement" part that is not what I ordered...
