Guide to the night sky
Very clear and precise with good visual representations. It makes a very good reference book in association with others. In order to fully appreciate the book one should have access to a suitable pair of binoculars or a sighting telescope. Both should be used with a tripod

Great read..
It's one of those books that you pick up and lose yourself into...I like David Levy's style and his undisputed passion for what he does.I'm a keen deep sky observer and found the tips in this book very useful. The chapter on double stars and comets was in particular interesting - many well made points and tips from an advanced amateur astronomers.Highly recommended.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME , AND ESPECIALLY YOUR MONEY
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR WORSE , YOUR MONEY ! This is the worse book on Astronomy I`ve ever come across . First and foremost this is a book that you are mislead to believe that is a book for beginning Astronomy enthusiasts ! It is most definitely not ! It is more of a book for experienced Astronomers , people who have been into Astronomy for a couple of years , have 1 or 2 telescopes with German Equatorial Mounts , Know exactly what RA AND Declination mean and how to set them on your EQ Mount , for people who have a very good understanding of the Constellations and how to find them in real life anywhere they are , etc , etc , etc .Mr. David Levy does a very poor job in explaining just about everything in this book , and in most cases does not bring the poor explanations to a concise and understandable end . What he does succeed in doing ( about every 4 or 5 pages ) is tell you abouthis Jewish Heritage and his childhood stories about Bar Mitzvahs , etc ,etc , etc . This is supposed to be a book on Astronomy ! Notabout any particular race , religion , or faith .The very few Charts and pictures that he does include in the book are poor to say the least . They are so microscopic in size that Iused a 2x Magnifying Glass to even be able to get a somewhat clear sense of what I was looking at . Once again the book offers noreal step by step explanations on the Constellations , how to find them , our Solar system , how the planets and stars rotate inorbit and their relationship to us hear on Earth , and how to identify and learn them .The book is very poorly written , for someone who has been in the hobby for 7 months now / without a Telescope just yet , I amsorely disappointed in the Author of this book . I could not read past page 31 for I was just as lost and bored with the subject asI was before even opening to the first page !I get the impression that Mr. Levy is more interested in showboating his knowledge of the night sky and making a quick profit insteadof taking the time to teach everything clearly , and concisely , step by step . After all this is what I was lead to believe that this bookwas supposed to be .
