Sturdy, Professional Replacement Binding Strips That Save Your Books
I picked up the BookGuard 1 Inch Premium Bookbinding Replacement Strips to repair and strengthen some of my old books, and they’ve worked better than I expected. These strips feel durable and well made — much stronger than regular tape or cheap fixes. Once applied, they hold the pages securely in place and give the book a clean, professional look, almost like it was rebound. The 1-inch size was perfect for the projects I had, and the adhesive sticks well without peeling up over time. I appreciated how easy they were to use — you don’t need special tools or skills to get a neat result. The strips align easily, and they don’t bunch up or wrinkle when being applied if you take your time. I also noticed that the finished result feels stable — the books open and close naturally without pages loosening again, which was exactly what I was looking for. Whether I was working on textbooks, notebooks, or even some older paperback favorites, the strips made the binding stronger and helped preserve them for continued use. Overall, this feels like a practical, high-quality solution for anyone wanting to repair or reinforce books without a full rebinding job. If you’ve got well-loved books that need a bit of TLC, these strips are definitely worth having around.

Excellent Product
This is fantastic stuff! It performed beautifully in my book repair. It was easy to work with. The adhesive is very strong, but also flexible. We'll see how it holds up over time, but I have high hopes.

Great item. Works perfectly
I received this bookbinding tape yesterday. It is the perfect size and color to fix an 1854 book on flowers with a disintegrated spine. Worked perfectly to stabilize the book and I also used it to stabilize the book cover corners as well.

Fixed our hymnal perfectly
My son plays the organ at church and his hymnal spine was cracked. This green book tape matched perfectly, and was easy to use. The 1.5 inch width worked out well for our hymnal. The adhesive is strong and the tape is flexible, perfect for book spines. There’s a lot of extra tape left after repairing it but I’m sure it’ll come in handy.

Good quality
I just used this to make covers and spine for a “scrapbook”. It is good quality and easy to use. Hoping it it is long lasting

Great for binding the edges of needlepoint canvas.
I'm sure this works fantastically for books, but what I use it for is binding the edges of a needlepoint canvas while I'm working on it. There is nothing more frustrating than the yarn getting caught on the edges of a canvas while I'm working, which can tear and utterly ruin it, and this cloth tape prevents that. I lay down a length on one side, press it down, flip the canvas, and fold the excess smoothly over. I was afraid I would have to be exact about the amount on each side, but I don't: it's not like dealing with paper; the stickiness does not come through the canvas onto my yarn or hands. I use the white so I don't get visually distracted, although I'm sure other people would love the range of colors available. I use the 2" on the top and bottom of my canvas, where the weave gives way the easiest, and the 1 1/2" on the sides, which are not as open to fraying but are still rough.

Very good tape with no shrinkage
Not my first choice for cloth tape but has held up well after months of use. Has a dull finish (not shiny). Easy to apply and work with.

Better than expected. Excellent finish on the tape.
I've been repairing and restoring antique Hawaiian books. The two pictured are both over 170 years old and neither had a spine. I used book cloth and fussy sub-structure for the larger book, but the rougher, smaller book was easily reassembled using the BookGuard tape. I intended to cover the taped spine with book cloth but the finish on the tape was actually much nicer. So I affixed the leather title labels directly on the tape for a great look. Asterisk Books in Hoboken will make leather and foil labels that add polish to any repaired book. And the BookGuard tape looks amazing with them. The smaller book has both the spine and the cover corners done in the BookGuard tape. The larger has a wide 4.5" book cloth binding, but the edges of the old cover have been protected by the Bookguard tape. There were some partial remnants of the original foilwork on tattered cloth on the the smaller book which is perfectly preserved under some acid-free paper - under the BookGuard tape. This is only possible because of the strong adhesive that has a perfect balance between adhesion and the ability to remove the tape without destroying the fragile surface.

Good strong tape that strengthens the spine and covers over the staples used to put the book together. Looks good on booklets also when repairing spines of printed books.

Used to repair a kindle case, among other things. It does exactly what is says. Unlike a product from another vendor, for which I have to find a use - perhaps as masking tape as it peels so easily.
