I really like it a lot, and have it come on every day, even when I don't need to wake up at that time, because the bird sounds and soft light are nice even when just lying in bed half awake. However, the bird sounds repeat after only about 10 seconds, so they would be way better if they varied more, and repeat over a longer time, or use existing technology that is essentially non-looping (non-repeating).The light time and brightness settings vary significantly, and I am very pleased with that; especially the way it can very gradually increase over as much as an hour, starting very dim and red, and I can set the maximum light level, so it never gets too bright.However, I was misled by one of the photos on the web page that looks to me like it can also vary the sound level over the same time range, but I found no settings to do that. Maybe the symbol below the lamp symbol that looks like a speaker symbol is just a different lamp symbol, but it sure looks like a speaker symbol to me. I paid a little more for this particular model due to that speaker-volume setting I thought it had, but it doesn't, so that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I like this alarm light/sound so much I'll still give it a 4, despite being misled about that.The radio is surprisingly good too, getting a relatively large number of stations clearly, with just the single-wire antenna hanging down behind my headboard.The additional sounds and lighting on the sleep-timer are nice too, but I would prefer it have the option to leave them on without timing out, as other reviewers noted too.Another improvement would be to have the buttons white instead of the same color as the unit, so they could be seen better. I guess one could learn to identify the buttons by feeling them by there location, but I just set it up once and never have to use the buttons; like I wrote above I just leave the alarm set for the same time every day, and it's so pleasant, I don't mind it coming on when I don't have to get up. However, if it was easy to see the alarm-off button, I'd probably use it.All-in all it's outstanding, but as far as I can tell other models with the same features cost a little less, so only 4 out of 5 stars.

The sunrise, audio alarm, clock, screen brightness adjustment work great. The sunset mode and radio mode never worked. The radio mode is a poor software setup that causes it to be impossible to adjust the radio station preset and have your adjustments actually stay as settings. The sunset mode is broken due to a bad button. After the return date I tried to repair the broken button, but I discovered it wasn't just a detached button the hardware for the button itself was broken.I bought this "new" but I think they sent me a used broken one as the packaging was a little rough looking. I do not know if the faulty product is the fault of an Amazon warehouse or the manufacturer.The aesthetics of this are very nice, but I'd schedule around your purchase so you're available to do a return on time if needed.

I bought this alarm clock because I was having trouble waking up in the morning. We live in the basement level of our apartment and get very little natural light. During the winter months, this makes waking up near impossible.I'm happy to say that waking up in the morning has been so much easier. The alarm clock gradually increases in brightness with helps emulate the sun rising and honestly, I feel like having a bright light that you don't have to get up and turn on yourself has also helped my brain realize that it's time to get out of bed which has seriously improved my morning productivity. The alarm also have the ability to "snooze" which lasts about 9 minutes, although I've found that I need to use this feature less and less and times goes by.The clock has a really sleek and modern design and in addition to being a really cool alarm clock actually acts as a radio and charging port as well. I've been using this to charge my bluetooth headphones in the morning so I can grab them and go to my gym sessions.If you need some extra help getting up in the morning, definitely give this a try!

It is a nice unit. The light and sound function well and I find it soothing in the early morning when I have to get up in the NE dark winters. If I could change one thing I would add the ability to set the duration of the light and sound as it clicks off in about 20 minutes. The first 10 minutes the unit is coming on line with a gradual glow then it reaches peak intensity and sound starts but then after 20 minutes is shuts off abruptly. If I could control the duration I might set it to stay on longer, until the sun came up, b/c when the unit shuts off, it may still be dark outside. I beat that by setting the two alarms to come on one after the other to lengthen the time.

i am a very light sleeper. i purchased this hoping that the gradual brightening would be less jarring/grudge inducing than the racket my current alarm clock hates on me with every morning.unfortunately, the dimmest light setting (you can start off the gradual brightening from a variety of lumens) woke me right up. no a problem really, in and of itself, except you can't snooze the light (only the sound, once it gets there). so i'm wide awake however many minutes before the birds start singing (you can set that feature - how long the light warms up before the sound fx turn on) and can't tell it to go away for some extra zzz's.i considered suddenly becoming a non-snoozer, but after 30 years of alarm clock procrastination - i decided a total habit rehaul was unlikely. sadly, i will need to return it. would be a keeper if lightening snooze were an option.also, in case you wondered - not wood, just wood colored plastic.
