Powerful, accurate and fun!
Wow. Right out of the box this is the most impressive C02 pistol I've owned. Glad I picked Daisy over Crosman (whose triggers I can't stand). First off, this is a powerful pistol. I can see it easily dispatching rodents (I used to use a similar gun with 480fps to humanely take out chipmunks). Then there's the accuracy. At 30 feet with a crosswind I was easily plinking my little .22 diamond target. Hearing the satisfying "ting" of the target on most of my shots. At about 15-20 inside of the garage patterning on a 5x5 target this thing was putting most of my round in a 1" group inside the bull. Worth every penny. It also fits nicely in my cheap-o nylon holster I used to use for IDPA. Great training aid, and a great all day plinker.

Wow.
Probulay the most important reason i bought this pistol was for its super high speed and velocity. i did my own chrony test and i got three shots averaging at 603.33fps with a new powerlet. But let you beware there was one problem i had with this pistol at first. When inserting the c02 powerlet make sure you close the knob as tight on as you can or the pistol will leak your c02 and the means less firing for you. :( But after that i was very pleased. so last sunday after church i took this little bugga out to the woods with me and got me some squirls and one grey rabbit. this pistol is a must buy for those who enjoy a powerful yet extremly fun gun. AS ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BLADES SWIFT BUT YOUR MIND SWIFTER TYLER T.

Daisy co2 pistol
Great plinking pistol with a mil dot scope. Just alot of fun. One co2 about 80 shots. Very powerful for a hand pistol 520fps. You would have to pay 2/3 times the money for a pistol better!!!!!!! The higher price pistol shoot about 480fps. Just remember don't leave co2 cartiage in it for long periods and always, always put a drop or two 10w nondetergent(very important) oil on caritage head. Most auto store handle 10w nd oil. I use it on all my air guns. It is great for the internal parts(all moving parts period) on all air guns. $4.00qt compare $4.00oz Buy & have fun its a $39 dollar pistol not $150. I give it Five Stars:price, quality, accuracy, ect. Thanks to Daisy & Amazon for handle such a great pistol.

Good pistol with a few drawbacks.
all in all, OK, but a little hard to load. Also, I returned mine because the knob that sets the canister in place is plastic and when you screw it in to puncture the canister it twisted right off. It needs to be made of metal attached to the shaft.

Solid BB Pistol
I've seen some reviews on this BB pistol that said the build quality was not good. Well, it is plastic, but it is a very high grade durable plastic, and I haven't had any problems with it. The velocity is higher than most of the other pistols out there, and the price is really good. It has a 21 shot capacity, and like any C02 pistol, it will lose some velocity after the first ten shots or so. The aim is pretty good and the gun looks really neat too. Also you can buy accessories for it that make it look even better if you like. I've looked at a lot of BB pistols of all brands, and I think this one is a sleeper, considering the price and all features.

Good Gun but design flaw
I bought this gun about three months ago and have shot up several co2 tanks just plinking around. I purchased a holster for this gun that works great when I just want to hike around and not shoot. I was hiking with my gun in my holster and by the time I got back to my truck and was unloading the gun the clip wasn't there. I never felt it fall out or anything so I retraced my steps back to the last time I shot and couldn't find it. I ordered a new clip (expensive) but this time I tied a fish line from the gun to the clip and it did fall out once. All I can think of is the clip release button is too easy to set off but other than that and the fact that the clip takes forever to reload it is a great gun. I just plink at things and break some glass bottles with it and it does great. Love it! It's a Great Gun!

Exceptional power
I started an airgun collection not long ago to keep the coyotes away from my dogs when we go on walks. I have two Daisy 15xt's and love them both,so I became an enthusiast and purchased the 5170 because I read it shoots out bb's at 520fps I don't know about that but it seems faster than my xt's probably due to the extended barrel length. I recently purchased a Gamo pt85 socom pellet pistol that is suppose to put out gamo's lightweight platinum pellet at 560fps. It has a much longer barrel with a fake supressor and packs a wallop. A bb and a platinum pellet by gamo weight real close to the same and from 25 feet the 5170 puts a bb the same distance through a phone book as the pellet pistol. I realize the impact dynamics on a steel bb as oppose to a lead (excuse me) expanding pellet are vastly different but the power of the 5170 is pretty strong for a bb gun. I also found the 5170 to be extremely accurate. Groupings the size of a quarter from 50ft. with brand new powerlet.

Stopped firing 2nd day after receiving
Received day before Christmas with big expectations. After opening, I was a little disappointed with mostly plastic build. I opened instruction manual and installed CO2 cartridge as instructed by manual. Next, was the instructions for loading the magazine, which said to load a maximum of 15 BB's. I remembered Amazon's webpage showed capacity as 21 BB's, which was also shown on the front of packaging and 2 places on the back of packaging. Fired intermittently, but accurately, when a BB came out. The next day, it would only click when I pulled trigger. Checked CO2 cartridge, which still had pressure. Tried again, but, trigger still would only click. Released pressure from CO2 cartridge and replaced with another cartridge, but, still clicked until trigger stuck. Called Daisy support the next day. Was told it would be at least 2 weeks after returning before repair/replacement, due to shutdown to do end of year inventory. I have shipped to Daisy, with UPS shipping label provided. I went to Daisy's website and downloaded the owner's manual for the Powerline 5170, which was different from the manual that came with mine, and said maximum capacity of magazine was 21. I can only guess that Amazon sent me old stock in current packaging. I can only hope that Daisy will send me a new gun, that works, at their convenience.
