Really fun and easy craft!
These are great. My photo shows what I made with one of the ten sheets, my "test runs" if you will. Toaster oven worked best for me. Also, for coloring, posca pens give the best black and work great in general. Prisma color colored pencils worked great too (pink heart and owl). Sharpie is okay but comes out transparent (love, top left). I glazed a couple with mod podge and nail polish top coat. I like the top coat better so far. I made a swatch test out of my first and also used scraps for testing things. I suggest you do the same if it is your first time with shrinky dinks. Lastly, they will curl up and look like they are getting ruined, just stick it out, they will flatten. Don't pull them out of the oven too soon and if you do, put them back. If they aren't completely flat, a spatula works good but work quickly because they cool fast.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM- but DON'T PANIC and leave them in for longer!!
I'm a teacher and had my kids make shrinky dink keychains for Father's Day. They turned out AMAZING!**One SUPER IMPORTANT TIP: the package says that it only takes like 2-3 minutes to shrink all the way... I timed the shrinking and at 2 minutes the shrinky dink paper was curling up and looking like it was completely ruined so I panicked and tried various ways to flatten them- DON'T DO THAT! Just trust and leave them in there for about 5-7 minutes and they will go from completely curled up to completely flat and gorgeous. If you take them out early all curled up, don't worry, just stick them back in and they fix themselves!I cut the shrinky dink paper into fourths and used a hole puncher to punch holes before baking and it was the perfect size. I also made some super cute customized cat keychains! My students and I used colored pencil for the pictures and then I spray painted theirs to seal. Put clear nail polish on top of mine and that works too. So easy and looks great!

Fun for kids and adults too! Great Christmas gift and fun way to make a personalized keychain.
So cool! I bought this for my boys for Christmas so they could make their own keychains for their backpacks. I tested it out by making Chewie in the picture (forgot the hole for the keychain).Reading the reviews made it really easy! The instructions say to bake 1-3 minutes but mine was still curled up at that point. Thankfully I had read a review that said to leave it in the oven until it flattens out. The instructions also say to leave it 30 seconds after it flattens. Here’s how I made mine:1. Print out a picture to trace. (This one was centered on about 1/4 of a page).2. Trace on the smooth side with a Sharpie.3. Color on the rough side with markers or colored pencils. (The directions say not to use crayons.)4. I probably should have outlined on the rough side with Sharpie again because the outline didn’t show up on the back side.5. Trim the edges. (Small scissors would be helpful.)5. Use a hole punch if you want a hole. (It will shrink to the correct size.)6. Place the rough, colored side up on parchment paper on a baking sheet.7. Put it in the preheated oven and watch it for 2-5 minutes. You’ll see it curl up and then flatten out.8. Take it out of the oven and remove it from the baking sheet. All set!Mine was only shiny on one side. Not sure if that’s normal or not. So fun— can’t wait for my boys to try this!

Perfect for kids making keychains
My kids used this to make keychains! They used markers and acrylic paint and a hole punch to put the ring for the keychain. These shrink to a much smaller size. We used half a sheet to draw out an image. You’re going to see the plastic start curling in the oven almost right away, let it! It uncurls a bit later and then you can flatten it if it still needs it. I would recommend reading the instructions before starting. The ones done with markers turned out better than the paint ones. It’s an awesome way to make a custom gift to loved ones from the kids!

Great product with a few limitations
This is a fabulous product when used properly. I have been stamping, coloring with alcohol markers and colored pencils, and even die cutting. You need to use Tsukineko StazOn Ink for stamping. Most other inks need to be heat set on plastic, and that is difficult with shrink plastic. The only markers that will work on the clear plastic are alcohol markers and they will dissolve Stazon ink, so you need to color on the other side.Colored pencils work well, although my cheap 72-color Raffine Marco Fine Art Colored Pencils worked better than my Prismacolors. You will need to sand the sheet thoroughly before stamping and coloring. I used 400 grit Wetordry (the black stuff). This stuff really shrinks a lot. See the attached pictures for examples. The Stampendous Laurel Burch Indigo Cats Stamp Set was cut out by hand and a hole punched between the ears before shrinking. The top left cat was colored with alcohol markers (all kinds) the bottom left was made with colored pencils. The cat on the right was cut out of #6 plastic (the kind you get in a box from the salad bar). It did not shrink as much and was somewhat distorted, but it's a cheap substitute if you want to practice. The Tim Holtz Crazy Cats was stamped and colored with markers. I wrote on the front of the stamp to remind myself which side was stamped on. I die cut out the figure which worked beautifully, but I don't know if this will work with all dies or if it might damage them. I used a heat gun to shrink the plastic. It goes really fast, although you need a pan to keep the plastic from blowing away. I did have a couple of items that did not uncurl, but most came out great. This stuff scratches really easily. I wish that they had included tissue between each sheet, as just pulling out a sheet and returning it can make a mark. This is a great product as long as you understand the limitations.

Divertido

Highly recommend!
These were so awesome to use! We made the kids Father’s Day gift with them. They are easy to use and dummy proof. The kids had so much fun that it is worth the money for sure.

Fantastic Product
Works great with paint markers, Sharpie markers, chalk pastel and pencil crayon (when pre-scuffed with a nail file). I also found this brand of shrink plastic to work best if you want to shrink your images down by 50%: this one does that; other brands I've tried might shrink down about 60% to the original size.
