There's areas of improvement to be made....
Honestly, i did not order these to go in a ski/snowboard helmet. I ordered these to hide in earmuffs at work due to the no earbud policy my job recently implemented. For my usage they have been great. I do not use the outer buttons, i turn them on and rig them in a set of company provided earmuffs. They fit very nicely, snug and comfortable. The sound quality is 8/10, kinda lacking in the bass department, but that can be fixed by volume matching to your phone and eq settings on your streaming service, i use spotify. Also, a volume booster can help. The one complaint i have is the tendency for one puck to go in and out, but if you follow the reset procedure on the website it will clear that up for a time. I also do not use any other bt device in conjunction, like a smart watch to change the track, and i keep my volume on vibrate on my phone. It seems this has lessened the tendency to go out or lose connection. Overall, I'm happy to listen to music and books again in stealth, and shut off the world around me. I still say it's worth the cost, even with the downsides

You cats are crazy!
Man, I was really reluctant to buy these based on the reviews of sound quality. I think it has to do with your helmet. I put these in a WildHorn helmet this season and absolutely love them. I live pretty close to my resort so I go up every day its open for at least three runs. Most days I go alone, so having some tunes is important. I couldn't be happier. I did give it four stars on sound just because somedays it seems like my left ear is a touch louder than the right but again, probably have the right tucked in the helmet too far. They don't feel big, in fact I hardly notice them.I was a little overwhelmed when I read the manual for button sequences but honestly, it takes one run to get used to it. Left ear is sound up or down, right ear is answer and end calls. Man, I love these things. You cats just need a different helmet. Don't cheap out on it either.Slightly Stoopid on Pow Days!!! Rock on Brosephs!

Solid product in a nice package. Nothing mind blowing, but didn't feel overpriced at $135
I got these both for skiing, and riding my Vespa. Both helmets have different inserts for puck speakers. The sound quality isn't insane, but it's a really nice way to hear tunes when I'm riding around at 30mph on the scooter, and I'm excited to try them on the slopes this coming winter! You could technically get better sound "quality" out of a nice pair of headphones, but these are still a pretty high-end feeling product that are pretty convenient. No hassles at all with pairing for anything disconnecting or being weird all. They're just TWS headphones. As far as build quality, these feel super solid! I expected the case to feel super cheap for some reason, but it's really hefty with some weight to it when the headphones are inside!Opted to get these on sale, and I don't feel like I'm necessarily missing out by not getting the newer 2.0 version. Rather, I feel like the 2.0 Chips Ultra would make a nice little upgrade, wher I could still see myself using this pair as a backup, or spare that someone with me could borrow even if I were to purchase the newer ones.

Ok, but the headphone bar is so much higher now, I wanted more
I have been using Chips old 1.0 wireless bluetooth headphones for five years now so I figured it was time for an upgrade. I liked the idea of having these be truly wireless and to see what advancements have been made over the past five years. Overall they are good headphones, but not great ones. Over the past few years bluetooh headphones have progressed rapidly, but these feel like they are a generation or two behind the times now.Pairing - Pairing is pretty easy, mine did so with minimal fuss.Sound - Sound quality is good, improved from my first gen Chips bluetoohSize - They are about 1mm thicker than the original set, but that didn't affect my use at allUse - Each earpiece must be turned on and off separately, which is a little odd, again with the bar being so high it was unexpected. Also unexpected, they shut off after 5 minutes. This is ANNOYING! My usual day is riding up the lift with some buds, a six minute ride, then we split up for our run and meet up again at the bottom. Normally I like to pause my music in the lift lines and on the ride to chat with my friends and listed for instructions from the liftiez, then tap them on once I'm on my run. If I ride solo, I'll leave them playing more, but still find there are several times during the day when I pause them for more than five minutes. So with the old Chips, they would come back on when I tapped to start the music, with these, I have to hold each headphone button for a couple of seconds to turn them on, then wait a bit and tap again to get my music going. I have had mine cut out once or twice on a ride, feels like a weak bluetooth signal, but it hasn't been frequent yet.The charging case is lovely, though I do find the fit of the headphones in mine is very tight and they can be hard to get out of the case. What's missing - App, settings, updates? No where to be found. Listen for Siri without tapping? Not here on these yet. Do both headphones have a microphone? Can't tell, I don't see any information on this. Chips docs are ok, but I I'd love to see detailed information on these like if you can get updates later, is there ways to configure them at all with some button pushing? Will there be an app that could setup things like the power-offer timer? (Please please please add this!) This day and age, expensive headphones (which these are) have come a long way and raised the bar as to what we expect out them and the Chips Ultra are not up to that standard.

When they work they are OK ... but they are very, VERY temperamental ... BUYER BEWARE!!
These chips need to be paired with a music storage device or phone and this is where the ""**** hits the fan". This can be, and was for me, VERY frustrating!! Perhaps these chips are new and the bugs have not been worked out. There were issues with the pause function and the play function. It is perhaps the blue tooth music player is the problem, but it could very well be the chips. There were days on the slopes when these could have been easily could have been run over by a truck without remorse. They were great when they worked (in a ski helmet) but BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
