Just what a ratchet strap should be.
I don't know how we lived without ratchet straps, but now it seems like we can never keep enough around the house. They are good for everything from helping us cut trees in our yard to holding the kayak to our car roof and everything in between. They have a 400-lb break limit, so I wouldn't use them for our motorcycles, but for smaller jobs, these are just the ticket. The package comes with 4 straps, and be prepared with your chainsaw to get them out of their packaging. It was like battling a bear to get these free. Once I did, I was pleased. They are just what you would expect from an affordable ratchet strap, with the bonus of a spring-loaded release that is easily differentiated from the underside. If you've ever messed with non-loaded and same-looking releases, you know how nice that is.I can tell right away that the black coating on the hooks will wear off, like it has on every other ratchet strap I've ever used, but oh well. They do seem to have a nice tight weave and quality metal, so there probably won't be too much fraying or loosening, but I will definitely update if we run into any of that.

Tie Down Straps 4 Pack - High Tension Rachet 8'
The S hooks used on this set of four, eight foot long tie down straps are covered in a rubberized coating which helps prevent damage. The ratchet mechanism works smoothly, effectively tightening and securing the straps, while readily releasing when done. The woven straps are rated for a maximum 400 pound working load. The material feels strong but lightweight.

A good light duty strap, maybe a bit on the short side
A nice light duty ratchet strap, a bit on the short side. Might be good for securing smaller or flat loads, or if you have a shorter truck bed. At 400lbs, it's not meant for huge loads anyhow, however each strap is only 8ft long. Quality-wise, can't really complain, the hooks and ratchet both feel solidly built. The camo is a aesthetic choice, I generally prefer safety orange or yellow just for visibility. A nice light duty set of straps, just wish they were a bit longer.

Perfect tie-downs for a smaller truck
This is an ideal step set for my little Tacoma as they have just the right reach for my truck bed. Sturdy webbing but I especially like the rubber coated hooks and leavers as it helps to prevent scratches on my truck and furniture, construction supplies, equipment, etc that I'm binding down. The rachet also has an easy release. This little 4 piece set is a must!

Good Straps for Everyday Use
Length: These straps are the right length for tying items in a trailer or truck bed.Action: The ratcheting action is solid and strong. They haven't gotten "hung up" on the gears the way some other straps sometimes do. The release pull has a short tab to pull. I prefer a little more to grip in case the strap has been over-tightened. These do not have a rubber bumper to protect an object from the metal ratchet.Ends: The ends are rubberized S-hooks

Very good ratchets and tough webbing.
Hooks, webbing, and straps all seem to be of high quality. Really only concern is black metal frame that serves as the lever for the ratchet. Had these down pretty tight, and they worked well, but not sure of the durability of the frames. However, all indications are that these will give multiple uses, and with four in the pack it should handle your tie down needs for quite some time.

Work great!
These keeper Camo 8' ratchets work just as they should and they're easy to use. The camo print is kind of unattractive but other than that they work great. We use this set for securing the canoe or the kayak in the back of the pick up truck and they keep it stable and from moving around during transport. Not much else to say about these other than they're a good value and they work exactly as they should!

Light to Medium Duty Ratchet
We used these on our utility trailer to tie down brush and tree limbs that we cleared from our 1-acre property. They were easy to use and held everything down nicely when we hit the highway at about 65 mph. We made it to the city's brush site without anything coming loose, so no complaints there. I really like the ratcheting action. It tightens so much more than anything you could do by hand. And loosening it is as easy as opening the clasp. The camo color is okay I suppose, I prefer something brighter so they aren't as easy to loose in a pile of brush should they get thrown aside. It's a personal choice since color doesn't really affect performance.Keep in mind that these are good for light to medium use for things like furniture, canoes, luggage, washing machines, etc. At 400 lbs break strength, they are not heavy duty straps that can be used for very heavy objects like motor bikes or jet skis. A 4 pack of heavy duty straps with a 10,000 pound break strength will run about $50.The price is about right for ratchets rated at 400 lbs, so having a set of these around won't break the bank. It sure beats our old system for tying things down to our utility trailer--yellow nylon rope, a few bungee cords and some painfully thin cotton straps that used teeth and a flimsy clamp rather than a ratchet. The straps looked like something you get from the dollar store. After using the keeper straps, I see now that we were just lucky not to have anything fly off the trailer when were transporting.
