Compared to orange mora companion
No cons for the price point.Grip is smaller than mora purchased last week.Blade thinner than mora,by just a tad, but sharper than mora.Top is not smooth, more of grinder look, which may make for easier sparks on fire starter.Blade is identical length. Wider inward from edge of knife on mora.Almost same holster. Both made in Sweden. The bahco is not repurposed steel. This knife has just as good blade as mora, sharper out of receipt than mora.Great value for those interested in saving and are curious, hence my review.

It's a $10 knife. What could you expect?
Well, if you don't already know, then I'll tell you. This knife is only about ten bucks, sure, but it is so much more useful than any cheap Chinese hunk of plastic and steel. The lock into the sheath is definitive and sturdy, the fit and finish is more than expected for the cost. And here's the kicker; it's out of the box sharpness. Now usually, being that I am a knife lover, I almost never take OOTB sharpness into account because I tend to just sharpen my knives myself. Usually though, those knives are worth the effort because they actually cost substantially more than this one, so I figured I'd just stick with however sharp this knife came from the factory with. And that's where I was stunned. I don't know if this was just in my case, but this thing is genuinely hair-popping sharp. I mean, I shaved half my left arm before I could comprehend that a $10 knife came from the factory this freaking sharp. That's when I took a closer look and realized that the secondary bevel (the bevel that meets at the edge itself) is almost non-existant. I mean, this thing is only like 1/64 of an inch wide! That means the the first bevel was ground super thin prior to the second bevel. I would never expect to see that with something in this price range. Now I'm sure you already know that this knife isn't actually made by snap-on/bahco, but rather that it is manufactured for them by Morakniv of Sweden. I honestly bought this one simply because I needed to spend $10 to get free shipping for another knife. I figured, for the price of shipping and maybe a beer, I could have a beater knife, so I pulled the trigger. Let me tell you, if you've read this far, then you should just buy the darn thing. Only time will tell how durable it is, but from what I've seen with knives, I can already tell that I am likely going to enjoy this knife for years to come. I'll probably be buying the three-pack the next time I need one. And for the price, if I wanted to, I could treat this thing like a disposable and toss it when it gets dull. Probably won't do that, but if you really wanted to, you could.Tl;dr ITS SCARY SHARP AND WORTH THE MONEY. JUST BUY IT ALREADY.

A Morakniv knife at a great price.
This "Carpenter's" knife, Model 2444, is essentially the same as Bahco's Laplander knife, also made by Morakniv. It has a textured handle handle for a better grip than other Morakniv knives, a stainless steel blade, and is also made in Sweden. It comes with a typical Morakniv plastic sheath. When ordered from an Amazon seller the knife arrives without manufacturer's packaging. Youtube.com has a number of reviews on this knife by bushcraft enthusiasts, largely positive. Note: the similar looking Bahco Model 2446 "Multipurpose" knife is made in China, not Sweden.

Buy more than 1
The Bahco knife is one of the best values for a general utility knife that I have found. It is a cheap Moraknif and just worth every penny. The stainless blade sharpens easily to hair splitting sharpness and holds a great edge for a long time. The handle is rubberized, non slip, comfortable, and fits comfortably in the hand. It fits with a click in the plastic sheath, and will not come out unless pulled. I keep mine clipped to my life vest and wile kayaking I turned over in heavy current. While under water the current kept the kayak pinned to the bottom of the river. I got tangled in fishing line and anchor rope wile being kept just under the waters surface. I pulled the knife out of its sheath, and cut my self and the kayak free - needless to say It will stay in attached to my life vest!

Cheap in Price, Flawless in Quality.
I'd always wanted a fixed blade knife for heavy work, as cleaning my Swiss Army Knives was a chore, and once the 40 year old Klein hawkbill knife my grandfather gave me finally had been warped so badly from all those years of use (and abuse), the blade wouldn't go back into the handle. I first decided to get an identical replacement, too expensive at almost $30! Then, I decided to send it in upon the lifetime warranty. Company told me, if I wanted to keep the old knife, I'd have to pay someone to have the blade straightened, which would most likely cost more than buying the knife new! Finally, I happened upon this gem for less than $10, and ordered it.You'd think, being extremely well made, sharp, and made in Sweden, it would cost at least $25 or more. But, you get all that for less than $10.Packaging--a one inch by two inch sticker with the model name and barcode on it. So, technically, it's unpackaged. Mine came loose in it's mailer with only that label. No other packaging of any sort, leading me to believe they're shipped to the seller bulk-packed, I guess also to keep the cost cheap.Sheath--Plastic. No fancy leather sheath here. Knife simply snaps into it. There's a belt/pocket clip as well as a hole to slip the sheath over a button. And onto the knife itself. Some say the blade is somewhat thin, but not to me. It's about as thick as the standard pocketknife blade. A 4-inch blade is all I need. Super sharp and can cut anything. I've cut rather thick woody brush with only the blade, when in most cases, I'd need my Swiss Army Knife's wood saw to cut the same thing, which typically takes a while. The blade cuts the same diameter brush in no time at all.Usually cleaning one of my Swiss Army knives is a chore, having to remove the scale tools and open all blades. With this, all I do is take it out of the sheath, soak it in soapy water, using a toothbrush to scrub grime, and the same for the sheath. There is nothing wrong with this knife. For $8, or well, any price, there's nothing that I can complain about. The sheath I don't expect to last long, though. Whether it be for cutting back brush (what I use it for) or even food preparation it's more than appropriate. This is my first Mora/Bahco, but probably not my last. I plan to get one of the carbon steel Moras and/or one of the Bahco folding saw/knife combos next.
