These are the items people who really know about cutting weight and cost go for, forget your goretex it does not work all day. These will keep you dry in all but the worst of storms. When they fail as all waterproofs do you will be able to buy another 10 sets before you have come close to the cost of a branded jacket. If you are a weekend or day walker they are perfect.
