Easy set
Well what can I say !!!!! Fantastic little piece of kit , you literally just plug in and away you go . Mounting was spot on , wide angle is far better than my previous one . Night vision is on point too . Rear view features is again far better than previous. Instructions are easy to follow I haven’t downloaded the app yet so can’t comment. But if you want a sturdy reliable dash cam then this is your go to . Wish I had bought years before but glad I have well worth the money for sure

Good Product
Excellent product. Works well with the MG car as it has a USB port next to the central mirror and I was able to plug it into that (using my own lead). So no dangling leads. Turns on by itself when I start the car. The first micro SD-card it didn't like, but it was fine with the second. Not sure why it didn't like the first as it was supposably compatible, but the second worked to sorted.

Fine, but hatchback issue with rear camera.
Looking at the great many competitors these days, Nextbase dashcams no longer produce the best quality imagery versus pricepoint. They also appear to lag behind in terms of tech.. Those reading the many reviews of the 222XR will note the odd complaint as goes image quality, which kind of begs the question "why buy one"? I did despite there being a lot cheaper out there with supposedly better specs... But why? The first thing for me was the importance of an internal battery that can record detected movement events whilst the camera is turned off (achieved by hardwiring it to an "ignition activated" fuse or simply plugging it into an ignition activated 12v socket. Most other cameras don't have a battery capable of powering up the camera during these events (simply a "super capacitor") that stores settings. If (like me) you have a small car with a tiny capacity battery, you won't want a camera that draws power all of the time.. This was a big reason for purchasing the Nextbase. The other reason was quality.. I'm not saying that the many other non fouls branded dashcams on offer out there are particularly bad, only that in my other car I've had a similar Nextbase GW312 camera (no rear cam) fitted for over a decade, it still working perfectly to this day. I've had to the internal battery in that time, but it's a fairly simple task and it seems that this version will be the same if the internal battery eventually also has issues. I bought the hardwire kit and the cera comes on and off reliably in tune with the ignition and so I'm more than happy with it. The image is good front and rear too.. In short, there is probably better out there but I stuck with what I know. Ps. If you've a hatchback the rear cam mount will only work if you stick it on the rear window and don't mind a wire existing between the trim and hatchback boot door whenever you open the boot. You also may run into problems mounting it on a rear window due to visually & physically clearing the rear de-icing window element (as the adhesive can apparently damage it). I got around this by creating a hanging bracket to adhere the provided magnetic mount (which slotted in under the existing car trim edge within the upper middle car side of the hatch door). This gives a more distal view out of rear window in its entirety, but is far tidier and install and works just as well. A note to those using a hardwire kit... The fused bridge that you use in that kit can only go one way round (as the polarity of bridge must be correctly aligned to the "live" side of the fuse. This is confirmed by simply using a cheap multimeter.. Sounds complicated, but this is important as get the polarity wrong and you will end up not utilising the 2amp fused protection for the camera, but potentially upping the protection to the rating of the fuse you are "piggying" into... Sounds complicated, but it's not... Lots of information on Google and YouTube.

Really good dash cam
Cheapest on the market and works as it should shame nextvase don’t sell sd cards with dash cams and include it the price at a discount because you have to get U3 specific sd card to use it so for anyone reading this prepare to fork out another 20-30 quid on a sd card and don’t get a 32gb causes it to freeze but can’t fault the product itself love the inside view too

Great little dashcam
I decided to get myself a dashcam as I had a few near misses. This arrived on time and in good packaging. Whilst you can get a professional to fit this I chose to do this myself. It was a little fiddly getting the cables behind some of the interior trim but luckily you do get a bit of plastic to help you so it’s not too bad. Once all connected the camera itself is easy to use. I would say though to be careful when fitting it to the wind screen. It’s very sticky so make sure you are putting in the right place otherwise it’ll be much harder to remove and restick. Playback is also very easy. And the picture quality is decent as well. It’s not quick iPhone quality but it’s still pretty good. I’ve had this in my car now for quick a while and have had no problems with it.

Excellent camera quality, with attention to detail.
I bought the 222XR and 322GW dashcams, so this review covers some advanced points with hits and tips. The 222XR pack comes with the ‘Rear WINDOW Camera’ which connects to the front dashcam via a proprietary connector. The rear camera mount uses a 3M pad to affix to the window with the camera affixing to the mount using a strong magnet which makes angling it simple. Pro tip: this rear camera is compatible with 622GW, 522GW, 422GW, 322GW, it is NOT compatible with the 322GW which instead uses the ‘Rear VIEW Camera’ or ‘CABIN View Camera’ models. 222XR does not have GPS so it doesn’t overlay your location or speed on its recorded video. Picture quality of both camera is excellent and identical as far as I can see. Both take pictures as well as video and protect files automatically. Both come with two 3M adhesive pads affixed to small plastic ‘plates’, these are useful if you want to move your camera and mount between vehicles as you simply slide the ‘Click & Go Mount’ out. Pro tip: Although the ‘Click & Go Mount’ looks the same on both cameras the 322GW one additionally contains the GPS chip so for GPS to work you MUST use the 322GW with its mount. The dashcam itself is attached to the ‘Click & Go Mount’ using a strong magnet which makes removing the camera from the vehicle quick and simple, it’s also helped by the power going into the mount and not the camera so no fiddly reconnecting wires. You also get a tool to help you fit the cables and a ‘ferrite power cable attachment’ to stop electronical noise from your vehicle interfering with the camera. It’s these little touches of thought that makes you appreciate Nextbase. Pro tip: The MyNextbase Player from Nextbase is free and works with both dashcams, for the GPS data it additionally shows the speed, G forces and Google Maps overlay, it also has a video editor. If you are the person who just wants to plugin and go - the Quick Start Guide in the box is good enough, but if you are going to use features such as Parking Mode, Dual Files, Alerts etc. you will be scratching your head on what exactly these are. Go on to the Nextbase website’s Support page and download the much more details (60 pages) User Manuals.

Good branded dash cam, and so tiny!
Got a good car? Then you'll need a reliable dash cam? This is the Nextbase 222x Dash Cam Front And Rear 1080p / 30fps Camera, 2.5" Display Screen 140° Wide Angle 6 Lane Wide Viewing, Movable With Night Vision And Parking Mode. Micro SD Not Included And Not WiFi Model With App. This camera is really easy to use, not only the front camera but you get a rear clip on one, will need to get a decent 64GB Micro SD Card, they are about £6. Please charge your camera for two hours firstly or you will struggle when setting up. It's real easy to install, place passenger side near centre windscreen top by rear view mirror, then cable manage camera with the tool to push cable under trim (roof trim then door trim then along under glove box to power source) and then power up in cigarette lighter slot. A massive bonus is the USB slot in the charge head. Huge bonus that! Once installed you can set up via onscreen menus, the defaults are fine, I just increase clip length to 2 minutes. You can also turn off voice recording unless you want to hear your kids singing We Don't Talk About Bruno. Overall this dash cam is decent, the price is pretty spot on, but if you want WiFi connection via app, you will need to pay an extra £90 eeeeek. Recommended.

Neither here nor there
So I have had this Nextbase dashcam for a few weeks now so can provide a fairly robust review. Positives: - Nicely packaged - Appears well made, sleek and robust - Video quality is very good - Website has access to tips, hints and how to guides Negatives: - You need to purchase a Nextbase SD card apparently, to ensure 'correct use'. Could be a marketing ploy, but something to bear in mind, particularly as the dashcam doesn't come with an SD card which is a bit of a sucker punch - Customer service is just about okay, online chat not great, phone customer service is better - Lord almighty installing the dashcam is DIFFICULT. Why are there so many wires that you need to slide into internal trim in your car, could be easier for some, I find it cumbersome and have had to utilise some well-pladed blue-tac - The dashcam appears to have a mind of it's own, turning on and off it would appear randomly - Needs 'jigging' with settings to ensure it actually records when in motions and just doesn't record when you get in and out of the car - With the rear view camera in situ, the recording capacity of the SD card is essentially halved, so ensure you have a large enough memory SD card, particularly if you do length journeys In short, would I buy one again, probably not.

Super Kamera. 🎥

Value for money
I researched a bit for its review before purchasing it and it turns out to meet my expectation. Good for people who can bear with slightly unclear view at night. Rear camera is just for better than nothing and don’t expect a good view from it at night. During day time. It works ok
