Groz35132 6" Rapid Action Vise

I agree with everything "Neal W." wrote in his review. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and love the rapid action for adjusting quickly for varying width pieces. I was also happy that the 3-1/2 inch vise opened wider than advertised. As you can see in one of the photos, the vise opens closer to 3-15/16 inches versus the advertised 3-3/16" opening. Before concluding this review I thought I should check if the jaws were perpendicular to the side of vise base. I used the table saw table as a flat reference and set each vise on its side and used a machinist square. I tested: 1. the base of vise between jaws, 2. the face of the jaws and 3. the top of the jaws, opened and closed. All measured perfect except the small vise when fully opened. As soon as the small vise jaws moved about 1/4 of an inch from full open, there was some shift of the moving jaw that centered it and it was perfect through the rest of the movement. No doubt, this is a great vise for the price.

The quick release function might seem "stiff" or difficult, but once you clean the vise jaws off (the anti-rust coating), everything works smoothly.
